Fair enough. But this is not a normal chelsea season. we have 3 wins in the last 9 matches despite being undefeated. Also, there are 7 teams between chelsea and the 6th spot. So its safe to say that TOP6 is gone. Chelsea as a club would never get a better oppurtunity to blend in some youth than this season. Like most of the fans on here, I am sure most of the coaching staff and the board memeber must be aware that the likes of oscar, pedro, ivanovic have no future with the club if we want to be challenging for PL in the coming years. I am not asking for kenedy to pplay ahead of hazard or traore ahead of costa. Baba and RLC over mikel/matic and ivanovic is not only a move in the right direction considering the future but also would be making the current team better.

Playing 2 DMs is understandable if we have something to play for. If the match against united was a FA cup tie or a CL tie, his decision to play mikel-matic would be understandable. But right now, we have nothing to play for in the league. Top 4 as well as Top 6 is gone. Then what are we waiting for? To actually reach the magical 40 point mark which would ensure our survival in PL for the next season? Why not play baba and RLC with the future in mind. Let the players go out there and try to just play some football for once.

Hardly something to argue about. Anyways, people dont want to deal with stats (as said by someone in the previous page), neither do they want to accept the opinions of reputed pundits and legendary players. Hard to argue with such a lot. All I can say is that Matic is a world class. One of the 3 we have in this squad apart from costa and hazard. We, as a Club, are in one of the worst moments in the Roman history and something that a lot of the fans are not accustomed to. Hardly a surprise that there are such over the top opinions all around.

You will find a dozen DMs better than matic in PL? There is a difference in having opinions and delusions. So you dont respect Jose's opinion, or neville, or carragher or henry or basically every pundit even remotely linked to PL? Is not that what you are doing? Your opinion that there are a dozen Dms better than matic is well balances and well judged? I find that hard to believe.

So except for busquets who is better than matic? Just 6/7 months ago he was tipped to be the best DM in the world. Matic has had 1 and a half good seasons at chelsea. He was the reason why we could keep winning 1-0s. Which brings me to the point of being "ruthless". Yes, we had a brilliant start followed by cesc and costa going off the boil, oscar being average in the 2nd half of the season and over-reliance on hazard in attack. Matic on the other hand, still put in world class performances match after match. Well, reading your opinion, I can think of only one thing. In today's world, you are only as good as your last match. In the outside world, matic is still tipped to be one of the best DMs in the world. He would walk into any team in the world except for Barca.

WOW. Talk about over-reacting and exaggerating. I know matic has been well below his standards but that makes him an average player? I guess, then hazard is another "average" player too because he has been horrendous. Matic is without a doubt one of the best DMs in the world. One average season will not change that specially when the whole team has been so poor. He was "the" reason for us to be so ruthless last season. Anyone discounting these facts needs a reality check

Moses is better for US than pedro. He just is not suited for us. His stepovers are pointless to say the least. Whats worse is that I cant see Hazard being here for the next season, oscar and pedro are not even top 4 PL material. We are in for years of disappointment and mediocrity the way we have set ourselves up.

I think both the DMs have been good. mikel shadowing mata and matic against fellaini plus setting off fires else where. Both have had numerous interceptions and when the ball goes to any of our attacker except for willian, it just keeps coming back at those 2. I remember the moment when costa shouted at oscar for not being able to play a simple ball at his feet. With the goal scoring oppurtunity he should minimum have hit the target. How many times has darmian found himself with ample space to put in a cross. So its not even like he is doing a "defensive" job. Like i said before "USELESS".

True, but we did not "need" to sell any of these. Luiz was also someone who had made it here. Luis was our only proper Left back. None of these players wanted to stay and hence were sold. With no CL football, infact no European football, I can definitely see costa wanting to leave and we would have no option.

IF I had said at the start of the season that on 15th may, at stamford bridge, one team would be fighting relegation and another going for the PL, I would not have been wrong. But hell, who would have thought that we would be fighting relegation and leicester going for the PL.

The same reason we sold filipe luis, david luiz, juan mata, KDB and lukaku despite not having much cover for them or their talents. I can see costa wanting CL football. Moreover, it seems that the media here hate him as well as the fans who booed him off a couple of times. If atletico madrid pay 50million pounds or there abouts and if costa himself wants to leave (not unthinkable) then we would have no option.

Another "Cheap" decision by the board, if true. 5.3million pounds would be atleast half, if not, one-third compared to what we were paying Jose. Sets the precedent for a summer of cheap skating and average buys.

Are we willing to have a bottler at the heart of the midfield for yet another season? Another season of watching the "lower" teams press cesc into submission? As for JT, he is gone. I love him, but the unnecessary mind games that he just tried to play may as well have sealed his fate.
