Gimme my damn search back and I'll throw a feast
-
We even had to disable search? This attention-whore is getting tiring.
-
He had said that he'd announce where he'd play during the next season. The match ended and there was a whole damn ceremony in which he said goodbye to his club and with the attention of the majority of the footballing board (twitter overflood and forums crashing) he just said that he wasn't sure where he'd be.
-
Noticed the board was crashing and thought that some transfer thread might be responsible. Haven't really checked this thread since the farce after the last league game so I would appreciate someone experienced in transfer bubbles telling me how likely this looks .

Not being required to win trophies is a void insurance. It's the league form that got both Ancelotti and AVB sacked and while finishing 4th may be more acceptable we've got a lot of ground to cover and this time we face the challenge of replacing Drogba for real.
-
The club wouldn't like that. In terms of real estate the new stadium would be too big and would grand too much power to be simply traded for the Bridge.
-
Henry had (according to wiki) over 150 professional appearances before moving to Arsenal. It wasn't until January that the season turned into our worst in terms of results since even before Abramovich. Until then we were doing as good as we did under Ancelotti so I would give Sturridge a bit more credit. Which is exactly what I was arguing. Coaches play younger players wide not for their development (they are after-all paid to win) but due to the reduced responsibilities of playing as a winger and reduced risks of fielding them. A fair view if a bit one-dimensional. I guess what I'm trying to say is that we should no judge Sturridge by false principles.
-
^ + Messi, Rooney, Benzema, Tevez and even Sanchez and Ronaldo depending on where one thinks their best position is now, Kalou too Wasn't Sturridge one of our 3 (5 for those who were more interested in his interviews than his performances) best players in the 1st half of the season? .
-
Position inflexibility is a myth. Of course its more of a myth when it comes to defenders (where one only has to look at how Ferguson has dealt with injuries and unbalanced squads over the years to realize the extent of the lie) than to mainly midfielders and attackers but excluding archaic traditional target men football has long since moved from the fixed, set in stone positions of players. The examples of world class front men who began their professional careers near the sidelines would make this thread embarrassing.

This might be overstepping my boundaries but since we've had some discussions recently on post/user recognition and awards I think some will find the reputation levels system in the following link quite interesting. Student Room - Rep FAQ Ignore the parts about personal reputation, anything about negative reputation, reputation limits, gems and anything else that in your opinion would not apply to TC but having adapted levels of reputation does seem like a sensible way to control the insane amounts of rep given over a day. As a matter of fact I quite like the idea of having rep given by the likes of BlueLion, zolayes, LDN Blue, Jim and Steve being worth more than rep from UMad? and posters who haven't been around long enough to know who Peace is.

It was fun while Dave was putting him in his place, now this topic has no reason to be open.
-
Shameless self bump

I wouldn't bet against something similar happening now. Winning over the fans is going to be harder for the potential new manager than for anyone we've had in our recent history bar Grant. Releasing the news during a busy period with many distractions will help the fans forget (about how much they liked RDM) and get them ready to embrace the new manager.

What a fitting development for a topic called mugshots..
-
I was being sarcastic, thought the name part made it obvious.
-
Damn... BlueLion went from stealing the name of other users to also stealing avatars..
-
If what Guardiola said is true then I'd give him at least 70% chances of being our next coach. I just don't buy that the problem with keeping Di Matteo is the contract length, neither he nor the club would make a big deal of it and most importantly none would leak it to the press.
-
So would it be fair to assume you rarely challenge for headers despite being physically adequate and chicken out of 50-50s more often than not effectively expending your work rate on a non-contact version of the sport?
-
The club slapped him on the wrist and released a "proper" interview. This is unfortunately the only way it could be dealt with. I'm still dreading at the thought of him being our 1st striker next season.
-
How would you define versatility then? Cause running like a headless chicken in different positions isn't really a better alternative. Unless of course we define that as the preferred work-rate.
-
How did this hit 250 pages?! Back in the day Neymar threads got locked for less..
-
It's no secret that he was overweight. Not only he was getting so big he didn't resemble a footballer but from what I've seen Lukaku didn't know how to fully take advantage of his mass. Afaik the club stopped weight training as soon as he arrived. Luckily he's still young so his individual training most probably comprises of footwork rather than gym.

What's the size limit for avatars? I'd like to somehow format this image to get the system accept it.
