  1. Would be criminal to let the chance slip. But I'd be more disappointing if he chooses to stick with them even now that Daglish is gone.
  2. I was here the minute this topic was posted but I couldn't be arsed to comment (or rather point out all the wrong things about it). The rate of me shooting down common fallacies is directly linked to the rate of such fallacies being reproduced and as TC's member count is growing I'm risking turning into a broken record. Edit: Gianfranco_Z just killed this thread.
  3. Heh half of those I nominated didn't get into the shortlists. I leave the threads faster than managers leave Cobham
  4. The sales of our 3rd kits are so low that they might be experimenting on the market. That's also why the 3rd shirt is so seldom worn.
  5. Not sure if it's the (zombie) unreasonable conspiracy theorist in me but I wonder if the scarce playing time he saw this season was related in anyway to the part of the transfer fee that was dependent on appearances and goal bonuses. Apart from that he looked lively and was (surprisingly) good at crosses. I'm still worried about the way he (does not) use his body and the frequent mistiming of his jumps.
  6. Anyone noticed how he became much more of a team-player the minute someone who did stick to his attempted run stepped onto the field? Sturridge's selfishness should partly be blamed on the likes of Torres hiding behind the defenders and taking ages waiting for the perfect run. In a normal game he was as selfish as we've grown accustomed to Drogba being (can't say I'm bothered by his audacious attempts) , which is no wonder given his striker origins, and anyone who has ever said he lacks vision should drop complicated football related words altogether.
  7. Cheers for that but are the rest of my posts the jabs at Kalou to keep everyone in line ?
  8. Classy.. He's just trying to show that he's wanted so that he'll get better wages in his next club.
  9. The more rested our players are for the new season the better. I can do without seeing them play for teams I don't care about if that means they won't run out of steam like all other players who had similar schedules.
  10. As soon as Drogba announces his departure this should become the starting post in his thread Edit: Merge those 2 posts.
  11. 2 is the obvious priority but I'd pick a realistic version of #1 because the new manager can't afford to repeat the risk of building a non Lampard-centric team so early in his tenure.
  12. Any way to set a reputation minimum for this thread? We'll not only have twice the amount of good/interesting posts but maybe encourage the non-Chelsea fans to join in.
  13. Mikel has been picked in the top 3 of the midfield pecking order for his last 4 managers but some have the audacity to claim that he's equal to 3-games-per-season Ferreira, bought-to-be-a-squad-player Meireles, can't-beat-fullbacks-in-1v1s-in-this-decade Malouda and ..Kalou. I preferred it when this common amongst daft fans anti-Mikel agenda was concealed in the Romeu topics. At least you could laugh at those claiming Romeu's composure on the ball was superior.
  14. Some of the posts in this thread remind me why there's no downvoting. I sure would abuse the hell out of it on such genuinely crap posts. PS. An opinion does not turn into a argument no matter how many times you repeat it.
  15. Mikel's early season form had more to do with our tactics than his own game. When you have your fullback occupying winger positions and your center backs being so far apart that they're likely to be mistaken for fullbacks you're left with a defensive midfielder who is extremely isolated and has so much ground to cover that even if he wasn't as imobile as he is he would struggle to cover the majority of areas 11 and 14 by his own. Alas once AVB noticed our wingers weren't doing their job (no Sturridge and Mata scoring and assisting is not enough) he switched to a more concervative backline positioning which coincided with Mikel being out of form and Romeu being in.
  16. ^ Share your thoughts all you want but once you've been here long enough you'll start recognising the most annoying of paterns.
  17. For all the hate our club's (Football Board's) transfer policy gets our 2 best players were signed in the last 2 summer transfer windows inb4 some genius claims those were CA and AVB transfers
  18. Do we have anything in the Terms of Agreement forcing each and every single new member to share with the rest of us how they think Mikel is shit?
  19. Not sure I get this. Is is because he's Scottish?
  20. Boo! We're already turning into a bunch of politically correct bores. This was as entertaining as anything we've had in quite a while.
  21. I wonder.. did you bother to read the post I linked?
  22. Yeah I had thought of posting a derailed pic before my popcorn run out but now we've certainly reached a point when this spat is unworthy of both sides.
  23. Could someone pardon my ignorance of UK politics and bother to tell me in a few words what the hell happened to the Labour after the 80s? This looks more like a different party which holds the same name rather than one which had any sort of possible enlightenment.
  24. Someone who'd most likely be considered a lefty in US politics
