I disagree with your lining of reason, you can’t judge it in hindsight. Your intention might be ambitious or not, but it is not dependent on results. Madrid hired Zidane after sacking Carlo, a coach as experienced as Lampard. Did you say they lack ambition at the time? His hiring resulted in unprecedented success in the CL. Barca hired a novice manager in Pep too. Madrid also hired Lopetegui who basically the same pedigree as Sarri, which failed, Barca hired a dozen of mediocre coaches post Pep. The popular thinking at major clubs years ago was to hire a manager who had won before at other places, rinse and repeat. Pep, Zidane, Conte, etc have proven that is not the only way, in fact finding the right fit could lead to more success. personally I don’t think you even understand what the term ambition means, it is not synonymous with success.

Are you for serious? Sarri was one of the most admired and attractive manager at the time, did you forget we had a transfer ban before we hired Lampard? You are also saying our standard has been lowered after being the arguably the biggest spender in Europe. Actually our standard were much lower when he had Willian and many other deadwoods in the squad. We had Hazard and failed to surround him with better talent. For god sake have some perspective man, it’s fair to say Lampard is not competent to lead this team forward, but in the grand scheme of things he has built a squad that is much better than before and someone else could win with. Trial and error is part of football.

It amuses me how this guy has barely played in our terrible slide, yet most Chelsea fans want to blame.
-
Imagine having all these talented players and going for Allegri. Are you out of your minds?
-
I don’t think the frustration from players are there where they point the finger at the manager. Still young and trying to settle in. btw I haven’t been on the forum lately, who is the TalkChelsea popular choice to replace Lampard.
-
I think he is still largely respected, even if if there some doubts. Still that doesn’t mean they buy in to the next guy, it’s a delicate situation. This is not Chelsea squad of the past, where it is a room full of veteran or players in their prime who have went through the manager merry go round.
-
Most of the players we signed in the summer are primary here due to Lampard, got to bring someone who the players buy in to.
-
The only defense I can think of is what are the alternative?
-
It pains me to say this but he has to go. I don’t understand his obsession playing Pulisic on the right and Warner on the left. This squad is too talented to play this poorly.
-
I think the dilemma is both best position is LW, it will be interesting how Lampard utilizes them.
-
Obviously i am comparing him to his City days, and how i perceived him.
-
Dzeko best league goal scoring season was when he scored 16 goals in 1990 minutes, Tammy this season has 13 in 1983 minutes. I would think Tammy best years are ahead of him, and currently more or less matching Dzeko outputs. My point is Dzeko was not sufficient to be a main and lone striker at City, similarity how i feel about Tammy.
-
Injury is the only thing imo could prevent him from a being a world class player, the player has all of the foundation to be come it.
-
I think Tammy is a capable striker, but not convinced he can be a main striker. Strikes me as one who could be like Dzeko from his City days. Decent striker, but not good enough to be the main and sole striker at the club.
-
Love Eden and immensely appreciated him when he was here, but the way he takes cares of his body only assures his best days are far behind him.
-
Man i have missed RLC so much, not caring about anything else tbh.
-
Why would the sell and dissemble arguably the best side in the world at their prime? They won the CL last season, and dominated their way to PL title. They are in great shape to build on their recent success.
-
More or less Havertz seems very similar to Firmino.
-
It is still shocking how sideway Oscar career at Chelsea went. He was a poor fit for Mourinho, a system that relies a lot on individual brilliance rather than collectivism like Lampard, Sarri, Kklop, etc. I like Mount and believe his talent, but Havertz is a bigger talent. That is not a knock on Mount, says more about Havertz from my perspective.
-
36% win percentage with Kante, while over 70% without him.
-
The guy won't leave Madrid, seems like a guy that just happy to be a Madrid player. Not hungry enough to seek a transfer to potentially be a star player somewhere else.
-
Unfortunately i see RLC career heading toward the Daniel Sturridge path, a player with vast potential but never to fully realize it due to injuries. I hope i am wrong.
-
I think we have a core team with great attitude and mentality, and i think Lampard can get him in line. My concern is do we really need another right footed winger, i think like Pulisic and CHO his long term position is on the left. I would prefer targeting Chiesa or see if we can get Barca to sell Dembele.
-
It was also well known that Pulisic wanted to leave before the season started and wasn't going to extend his contract. That heavily factored in him being out of favor.
