  1. I didn't watch ADM at United that much this season, then again he was awfully used by LVG. For Argentina ADM played a lot in the pivot alongside Mascherano. Carlo played ADM in a 3 man midfield in his 4-3-3 setup.
  2. Not this season only, but throughout his career.
  3. Agreed i always wondered why he has never been given a similar role like Angel Di Maria has with Argentina and his last season under Carlo.
  4. I am using Euros not pounds, so it was approximately 40m Euros. Does everyone use Pounds instead of Euros on this forum? 30m pounds is still a lot of money, my point was we invested a lot in that position a year ago we were not going to shell out the same amount on another player in the same position.
  5. It wasn't only Salah, it was more of a series of moves why he didn't move for Sanchez or Griezmann. For example we purchased Willian for the RW position for 40m less then a year ago.
  6. He had a very good season on loan, he looked outstanding even in matches against Barca and Madrid. Sevilla is a very good place for him, he looks like he has turned a corner. So i wouldn't say "what a waste of talent" mainly because he is still young turns 24 in a few days. His best days is yet to come, plays for a CL team, and plays in the best league. Not bad, may never live up to the expectation placed on him but still could have a very successful career. His Chelsea career was mismanaged by the club, and his attitude was certainly an issue. So not everything should be blamed on him.
  7. Meh that was 5 years ago. Btw i always believed he was a better RB, but probably at his age with loss of his physical ability he would better suit the CB position atm. Some players have done that including Maldini. Also no shame in not being better then Luis, very few imo are better then him.
  8. Not really, there are two ways to play on the counter an aggresive way and passive way. Alti and Dortmund plays aggressively on the counter, allow you to get to a certain point and they aggressively pressure you to create counter. A passive way would be how we sometime play in big games wait for the attackers to make a mistake and counter. Ivanovic playing out of position does not make him a better option then Luis, and secondly he has played almost exclusively as a RB since arriving here. Who is to say to he is playing out of position?
  9. Way to go and talk for Chelsea fans in general. This argument is illogical. Take the opinion of Oscar aside for now and him out of the equation for one second. Talk Chelsea forum does not equal the opinion of Chelsea fans. You do know forums attract people who have strong opinions, most fans are not on forums because they don't have that strong of opinion to open an account on a forum and invest their time. Secondly there are few posters that post on Oscar Mostly. Oscar biggest critic and Oscar biggest apologist. I guarantee you if i went down the last few 10-20 pages i will see the majority of the same posters on this thread. They do not represent Chelsea fans or Talk Chelsea. Thirdly Madrid fans are ready to hang Bale, i bet most here would give their left nut to have him here at Chelsea. Cesc was extremely hated by Barca fans, and he just helped us win our first PL title in a long time. I don't understand why people want Oscar sold, we are not getting a marquee player if he is sold. We are most likely going to replace him with someone like Douglas Costa. A signing that still could happen without selling Oscar. As i said i don't see the point of selling Oscar just for the sake selling a player and turning a profit. I don't want to see Oscar as a guaranteed starter next season, he is not dependable or consistent enough. But i think it would be great if he steps to the challenge and makes the position his own. Chelsea greatly benefits from that.
  10. Highly doubt that. Azpi is the better defender when it comes to playing deep and the reactive Mou plays, but when it comes to playing aggressive football and high pressure Luis every day of the week. Luis is better then Ivanovic on every aspect except set pieces.
  11. Not sure why Ineista is still ranked so highly, he is nowhere the best midfielder in the world based on this past season. Rakitic was comfortably Barca best midfielder after Busquets. Pretty much Xavi and Ineista were on par this past season, but probably Ineista had a better season due to his late season surge. The most objective Barca supporters will tell you the biggest issue with Cesc was his performance in the 2nd half of the season. Just like this past season with Chelsea.
  12. No reason to sell, no need to maker the squad weaker, and the money isn't too good to pass up on. Next season the CAM position is a good situation if we do sign a RW, Willian showed good promise in CAM position toward the end of the season and Oscar showed good promise in the beginning of the season. That is a good situation I a am looking forward to see who wins out. Whoever losses out will still get good amount of playing time and can contribute. Don't get me wrong I would like to see Pogba here, but this is a irrational belief to think we will sign Pogba if we somehow sell Oscar. Mou doesn't need to sell Oscar if he wanted Pogba.
  13. Lol hell no, anyone who follows Alti would tell you Siquiera is a massive downgrade from Luis, flipe was a game changer from his position. AM would take him back in a heartbeat he was clearly missed this past season. Also filipe was already established before his move to Athletico Madrid. He garnered interest from Barcelona when he was at Deportiva.
  14. True but i was talking about this season though.
  15. I agree, we really haven't destroyed any of City, United, Arse, Pool. Spuds. So not sure how anyone can claim we can destroy Madrid. But i do think Madrid plays to our strength.
  16. But don't forget those players wanted more playing time and wanted to go somewhere else. It was the case with Mata, Luiz, Schurrle, Lukaku, and Salah. Not everything Mou says is some sort of mind game, he is telling the truth most of the time. He wants to keep all his players, if the players asks to leave; Chelsea sells them that is out of his control and Chelsea doesn't keep players against their will. It is not mind game, he doesn't know who wants out or if an offer comes that is too good to pass up(PSG offering 50m for Luiz). I think we will definitely have more then 2-3 signing. Mou is not really a big picture type of guy he is more focused on what is front of him. The immediate asks to sign 2-3 players to replace Drogba and Cech. Drogba already publicly announced his departure, and Cech probably already told him he wants to leave. Speculation on my part but he wants to sign another AM, which i think it is obvious to anyone. If the right players become available he will pounce on it, not mind games more to do with opportunity.
  17. Well i would say Madrid is a better match up for us. What is Mou strength? reactive and conservative football, that would have been an excellent approach against Madrid. Being reactive and conservative was awful approach against a 10 men PSG team, and they rightfully made us pay for it. Atletico is not easy team to counter against, they specialize in that. We all have comfort zone undoubtedly, and when we step out of it we don't do as well. For Mou is playing the underdog and reactive style, struggles when stepping out of that and when the situation asks for a more proactive approach.
  18. I am Chelsea fan first and foremost. I would rather see Willian and Oscar compete for the CAM position, whoever is better should play. Any way fantastic finish to the season for Willian, hopefully him or Oscar can Solidify that CAM position next season. A RW is a must, Griezmann would be my choice atm.
  19. I don't think Mou will sign another CB, unless Varane becomes available. He seems pretty contempt about our CB situation, but Varane is the only player he would not pass on since he rates him so highly. Tbh CB situation is fine in the short term at least, with Terry, Cahill, and Zouma.
  20. The Yaya comparison is quite lazy, this label is pretty much as lazy as labeling Lukaku as Drogba 2.0. Pogba is a different player from Yaya. Yaya is much more effective passing and can make a difference on the pitch with his passing, Pogba on the hand i have not seen it Pogba is more like an extremely talented version of Ramires, if you want a comparison to his style.
  21. Did he get sold or not? i thought i remember Florentine activating his clause to purchase him.
  22. Griezmann fits to this side like a glove, and it be quite beneficial for this team to have Willian/Oscar compete for the CAM role. There was a quote a few days ago from Mou saying there are rumors that exist regarding some players only to get them a better contract. The fact Jorge Mendes is Griezmann and Mou agent led me to believe that is the case. Also after Griezmann showing this season, he would absolutely demand a pay rise, he has risen beyond every expectation. Just a theory on my part.
  23. Agreed, they sold Pep on the idea Goetze was German own version of Neymar. Different players and different talent level. I would pass on Goetze for anything above 20m. I question his commitment to football atm and many do.
  24. I don't see it. Kaka was a freak of nature, his acceleration/speed was uncanny for a player with his technique. Coutinho is much better comparison. Damn the hate Oscar gets on this forum from some is ridiculous, you must be a Willian fanboy. Not that i think that highly of Oscar, but surely it doesn't take that much of a brain to realize that buying a player for 3m and turning into 25m+ is quite fantastic.
  25. Pep wanted Neymar, Bayern management wouldn't cough up the the necessary money to get him so the alternative was to offer Goetze to Pep. that is well known among Bayern supporters.
