It was pretty much the same before he got substituted. Honestly the game changed once Ziyech got injured, he also dropped back to help in midfield. You always risk giving up something when you play with a midfield two. Our guys are still not match fit, definitely not up to a 120 minutes match game. Tchoumani looks like a nice player for the future, the Barca wonderkid is another one. If you are genuinely worried about the midfield Tchoumani is nowhere near good enough to improve our midfield. He would be a good depth and provide an emergency backup.

Huh? A portion of all those signings fees are amortized this fiscal year. If you understand amortization, it strengthens my argument. A players transfer fee is amoritized over the length of their contract.
-
That is one thing, but another to imply the sales cover Lukaku transfer. We bought Chillwill, Havertz, Werner, and Ziyech last summer, and probably going to buy a couple more players this summer. Sales revenues generated are not going to going to cover Lukaku transfer alone.
-
This is some A tier coping method, it really makes me laugh. Often many rationalize their total spending, by bringing up the players sale revenue. But this is another level.
-
Drogba and Lukaku couldn’t be anymore different. I am sick of this comparison.

Yes and No, I don’t think a manager can improve a players skill at this level. The best Tuchel can do is play to Lukaku strength just like Conte did at Inter. A good manager puts its players in a position to succeed, play to what they are most comfortable with and try to avoid putting them in a position where their weakness lies. And if done so the players will play with a lot of confidence. for example Christensen and Rudigar are the same players as they were with Lampard and previous managers, they are now playing with a lot of confidence in a system that gets the most out of them. Look at Rudigar with Germany in the summer he went back to the inconsistency we were very used to. The more talented a player is the better they can deal with many situations even if they are not in the position to do so. They have more tools.

No it’s not the same. Anyway I feel like I have made my point over the years why we shouldn’t sign Lukaku. His signing is inevitable, and he is in his prime so it won’t take long to find out his worth. we don’t really create enough big chances though, we are pretty much middle of the road in that aspect. Chances created data is very misleading, it fails to consider the quality of it. in Carlo second season at Chelsea, a slumping Malouda created most chances in the EPL. No one would have believed it from watching though.

Lukaku is a runner, give him space to run into and on the counter he is pretty good. That is his game it fits an Everton or WBA. Or a reactive manager. But at Chelsea, opposition gives us much more respect they play deeper and the spaces get tighter. He would have to play to his weaknesses, where has to make combo passes and make intelligent runs with bodies everywhere. Anyway I hope I am wrong. I will root for him to succeed.

This can be easily explained. Ronaldo is past his prime and Juventus has nowhere near the creative players that Madrid have and don’t create as many chances. Look at Ronaldo performances in the CL and his goal record, significantly down also. His age and supporting cast can explain this. Salah went to a better team, and played with better supporting cast. His goal scoring output is also consistently better in CL. Immobile went to a better team in Dortmund, but couldn’t make it there. Good players get better around better players, while bad players look worse. Not only at Dortmund but also with the national team. Italy always has players like Immobile and Di Natale who put insane numbers but outside of the retirement league they look out of their range.
-
I started watching some of his individual games to see if he has changed…omg still the same Lukaku. The first touch at 1:00 mark classic Lukaku, where his first touch goes 10 yards lol. It is such a simple and easy pass he was given too.
-
Over the years you have been Lukaku biggest fanboy around here. You got your wish. No hatred from me, I simply will not acknowledge he got better because he went to a weaker league. There is a reason Serie A is known as a retirement league. From an athletic standpoint the two league is day and night, he won’t have that contrasting advantage in the EPL. Lukaku is definitely not my type of striker, I have never rated guys like him, Higuain, Icardi, etc.
-
What does it say about Serie A where Immobile is one of the most prolific scorer year in year out, but only can score 3 goals in Bundesliga. people say Lukaku has improved all he did was go to a garbage league.
-
Mount will find a way to stay as a regular, he is like a managers pet. Given his all round ability and work rate, he will stay as a favorite of most managers. I hope he improves where he doesn’t become the new Willian. Which is decent but you feel like someone else can do better and a improved player is needed.
-
We don’t create enough good chances though, he is quite wasteful. And if you take away his penalties, his goals per minute is not that good at Inter. https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/features/2021/5/14/22435783/why-arent-Chelsea-scoring-more-goals-and-how-can-we-fix-that

Fml, such an unexciting transfer. Honestly most likely scenario Lukaku transfer plays out like Higuain transfer to Juventus. Where they also paid similar money, they left a lot to be desired. I think their level is similar, both goal scorers with limited overall play. Both cannot rise to the occasion. Juventus were disappointed because Higuain couldn’t take them to another level, feel that is exactly how Chelsea will feel about Lukaku.
-
Messi signing for Chelsea is a dream scenario, and not happening in reality. But if it possible to sign him, club should do everything to make it happen. Should Chelsea sign the best player in the world? The answer is an easy yes.
-
So you prefer Lukaku over the best player in the world and the best ever?
-
The club announced it and made farewell video. I guess this could all reverse itself. But to say “ I don’t see it happening at all.”
-
We are bidding for Messi?
-
There is literally no chance of that happening; too much money and imo he is still the best player in the world. He can go to Rosario any time, it would be unimaginable for him to make that move.
-
I’ll be honest I have not seen much of Lukaku at Inter, but every time I have seen him I don’t come away thinking he has changed. Look you are trying too hard to undue Lakuku reputation, he has a reputation for scoring goals but overall play seriously lacking. You are painting Lukaku as a great overall player, which he is not. Best case scenario Lukaku lives up to his reputation as a goal scorer against weak sides. I don’t want Lukaku, but if he lives up to that I would be content.
-
Dude just use your brain, Lukaku struggled to connect a few passes together under Mourhino. Imagining him doing it on a team that heavily involves their striker is a complete joke. why did Pep made such comment? You don’t know Pep very well, he is very generous toward managers and players that he perceive as no threat to him. While he responds differently to managers and players that are competitive toward him. pep is a terrible loser, he has shown that throughout his career.
-
Yes because the shit newspaper told you so. Thanks for the laugh, imagining Lukaku in Pep team is too funny.
-
For a player like Lukaku that situation is not ideal, he pretty much best fits reactive side. There is a reason why reactive managers like Mourhino and Conte rate him, and sides that are assertive never considers him.
-
Was the same currency used in that math.
