Fair enough, maybe you haven't, but it is indeed very common for athletes to tear their ACL and then walk off the field. In the AFL (a local sport here in Australia), I would say almost 50% of players who tear their ACL are able to walk to the bench before getting it properly assessed. I made it as clear as it could possibly be that I was not saying Zouma tore his ACL, I even put it in bold, yet you still refuted a statement I never made. I repeat, I was simply saying that with knee injuries, an athlete's ability to walk after the incident sheds no light on the severity of the injury.

Physically yes, but mentally that might actually be better for him - spending some time in a team he is more comfortable with and played so well in at the WC. Hopefully he can score/assist some goals and regain some confidence.

^Another great interview by Thibaut. He speaks so well for such a young player. Definitely not ruling him out as a future Chelsea captain.

Jose has said that Cech was going to play against Liverpool yesterday if he wasn't injured, and expects him to play the West Brom game. http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2015/05/final-whistle-verdict--fair-result.html

Yep, this looks likely to be the case. However, with knee injuries, being able to walk relatively fine afterwards quite often tells you nothing. Serious (i.e. ruptured ACL etc.) knee injuries are often very painful initially but then athletes can walk and even run after the incident, but will then end up being out for 9-12 months. Not that this is anything like what I imagine Kurt's situation is. My point is just that the fact that he was able to walk off the pitch isn't really an indicator as to the severity of the injury. As you say though, this looks like a minor injury that will probably keep him out for a few weeks, therefore ending his season. We will see.

Can't remember where, but Mourinho recently said that he had two favourite moments this season - Schurrle's goal at Burnley, and Cech's save against Everton. I tend to agree.

Seems Oscar is unavailable for this one and beyond due to an injury picked up in training ahead of the Palace game, on the basis that it is being explained as the reason for his exclusion from Brazil's Copa America squad.

Very good news for us that he will be getting the summer off for the first time since his arrival here. Hopefully it will result in some better post-Christmas form next season! Interested to know what the "injury" is, as he seemed to be moving quite freely during the celebrations on Sunday, but then again all injuries clear up with euphoria! It surely cannot be anything to do with the head injury at Arsenal, as he was on the bench in midweek against Leicester.

Rami just posted the following message on his Instagram account: https://instagram.com/p/2QzlvPlb9s/ So glad he's ok!

Can confirm that the leaked 2015/16 kits posted previously in this thread are in fact fake - our real kits will have gold PL logos!

Quite frankly I can't stop thinking about poor old Rami - such terrible timing to miss all the celebrations. This is actually a very interesting subplot; I wonder what understanding the players had of the situation and its seriousness. I daresay details may have been kept from them so they could focus on the game and enjoy the impending celebrations afterwards without a teammate's health in the back of their minds.

Fucking magnificent post-match interview. I. Love. This. Man.

FILIPE!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA
-
Fucking hell, hope he's alright.

Like a few have already said, I had a feeling Speroni would save the penalty. And what a terrible penalty it was!! But we scored, so I couldn't give less of a fuck! I've actually thought Cuadrado has been pretty decent so far...
-
1. Hazard 2. Terry 3. Fabregas 4. Costa 5. Matic Honourable mention to Azpilicueta.

Yes, they are also playing Sydney FC three days before us. An exhibition would make sense but doesn't sound like it will be happening at the moment...
-
Second game in a row I've noticed that he's been wearing his socks the wrong way round (with Adidas logo on the front and CFC logo on the back instead of vice versa like everyone else).
-
Looks like the initial prediction of a return against Palace is going to be accurate...highly doubt we'll see him at Leicester.

When assessing Oscar's performance in this game, we can obviously only take into account the minutes leading up to the Ospina incident, because he was evidently struggling following that. With that in mind, he had another good game. For me it's his third consecutive good contribution in a row after his performances at QPR and against Man U, which is obviously what we are looking for from him - consistency. Hopefully this incident doesn't stall that for the remainder of the season. IIRC, the recent media reports about Oscar being sold at the end of this season were at their height in the days leading up to the QPR game, so therefore these last three performances must be classed as a good response to a bit of pressure from Oscar. Similar to what we saw with Willian when people were questioning his position in the side after the purchase of Cuadrado. In terms of the aforementioned incident itself, I have a lot of experience with concussions - I know one when I see one - and that was most certainly a concussion and Oscar shouldn't have been allowed to continue playing, simple. He has left the hospital, but I would be surprised if we see him against Leicester, and he may even struggle to get up for Palace. Wishing him all the best though.

John. Terry. The man is a fucking living legend!

No chance, in fact quite the opposite is the case. He has an unbelievably level head for someone so young.
