Also, I've noticed Cech is picking out the ball a lot more now, more like Courtois, but I remember he used to much prefer punching the ball out of the zone.

Get the feeling that Pelligrini both wants to strengthen his overall attacking force and if he was willing to spend so much money on first choice material, either City know Aguero is going to have a niggling knee injury all season, or they are fully expecting him to depart in the summer.

I like Courtois but I did miss Cech. Also after his performance against Spurs he probably deserved to gt dropped anyway.

Tell you what though, Zouma was beasty. Deserves another start. What's ridiculous is, he's only 20, and he's already outperforming one of England's first choice CBs! I have to say though, with JT I think the reason he gets played on the left because Azpi helps cover for his lack of pace. If Azpi does move to the right then I think JT will change sides as well, with Zouma and Luis on the left. On a side note, we got denied another penalty. 4th in 5, isn't it?

I think that's pretty much my stance on it after calming down. As long as we win the league I really could care less. I hope that one day we can welcome him back here for a coaching role... He certainly didn't help himself, though.

I can see where he's coming from. For £200m we could get Pogba, Varane, Reus and probably have £50m to spare. Messi may well be worth £200m to Barcelona, but to Chelsea he's worth no more than £100m. Plus I think he would find it hard to adjust to not being worshipped at this club, and unlike the board there, neither Jose nor Roman are going to bow to him. I'd rather nurture Hazard.

Courtois Azpi Zouma JT Luis Fabregas Matic Salah Messi Hazard Costa tbh, bringing Reus and Varane and a CDM would probably bring a much better improvement to the team than another #10. Not that I'm excited. Having Messi here would be amazing. Although we might have to fast track our stadium expansion! Depends what price we get him for. He may be worth £200m to Barcelona, but I would not pay much more than half that price for him, considering we could get 3 still excellent, just not as exceptional as Messi, players here for that money. Azpi Zouma JT Luis Cesc - Matic Salah Oscar Hazard Costa Bench: Courtois, Ivan, Cahill, Ramires, Mikel, Remy, Drogba Sub 1: Remy to replace Salah if needed Sub 2: Ramires on for Oscar and Cesc moves to 10, Rami to pivot Sub 3: Remy on for Costa if unused for winger, otherwise Drogba.

If Remy performs well on the wing, why not play him there permanently, make Bamford second choice and that way Remy can fill in as 3rd if he needs to. If there's one thing we don't need, it's strikers. Also saves us from buying a new winger.

Agreed, getting him, Reus, and Khedira would be a much better upgrade on the team than Messi - Cesc is more than excellent at the #10 role, it's one of 3 roles we actually don't need to improve on.
