Explain to me why Michy shouldn't start? He's been great throughout the pre-season and there's no reason why £58m Morata would just walk straight into the XI. Right choice, IMO. Striker position desperately needs competition and the total amount of goals Michy+Alvaro score is more important than what they individually score. On the other hand, I expected to see Musonda instead of Boga. I guess it also comes down to attitude, defensive contribution etc. and not just technical ability, which I think is where Musonda excels at.

That's the way it was supposed to be last season. Manchester clubs are under massive pressure this season. During the summer both clubs have improved their squads overall but their central defences are still bang average. Questions are going to be asked if Pep can't get his defence figured out and if Mourinho still plays shit on a stick football with Fellaini as his go-to guy.

Morata starting on the bench makes perfect sense. You can't just walk straight into the starting XI after transfer no matter who you are.
