We have plenty of people in N. America and Europe like yourself right now can't make sense of the globalized post-industrial world. In your effort to make sense of the world, all roads lead to doom and persecution, and in this case it clearly doesn't matter that the item in question comes from a private company making decisions based upon sound marketing and merchandising. No doubt that we are due for a shift to the 21st century from the idiocy of the 20th and it may be tumultuous, but it doesn't mean the end for democratic ideals and Western values, including individualism and freedom from religious oppression. I may think that all right wing ideology and conservative ideology is moronic and destructive (Christian, Muslim, Hindu, and Jewish alike), but never forget that people like myself from the political left will also fight to defend your freedom from religious oppression.

The part of this that makes no sense to me (and I may be uninformed here) is that assuming there were always provisions for stadia upgrades under FFP rules, why is any club so concerned about budgeting for such upgrades? I thought that expansion would be rewarded if an owner of a club was fully capable of funding it regardless of actual club finances. I must be wrong about this.

Tolisso or Sandro would have made our window positive for just about every Chelsea fan, I think --Sandro moreso, obviously. Llorente to Spurs is the real kicker to round out a poor window from the Chelsea staff.
-
Agree. Musonda is a lightweight, springy player worth having in the squad. I hope he's given a chance.
-
"A solid window," says someone. Polishing a turd. Truly, everyone SHOULD be asking WTF Chelsea are suddenly so unattractive and/or poor negotiators. Let's recount the failed transfer plots: Sandro, Danilo, Lukaku, Barkley, Mendy (apparently), Llorente, Ox, Candreva (?)... and meanwhile someone like Matuidi goes to Juve for 18 mil. I'm happy that we got the players we did (Alvaro, Antonio, Tiemoue, David Zappacosta) and that we kept Andreas here as a defender, but the window is showing Chelsea to be a 2nd or 3rd tier club in European football now, and for the future. Maybe you can't sign everyone you need in one window, but I'm sure Chelsea could do better than this window.
-
Things started to look OK in July, but this window fizzled out really badly.
-
At this rate, we ought to be thinking about the January window. end of window transfers for Chelsea: Llorente, Drinkwater, and ...some leftover defender.
-
and it's not-so-amusing how some people kneejerk-overuse the word "overrate." yeah, clearly it's poor judgment to commend Klopp and Liverpool for making the effort to build a solid squad despite continuing deficiencies.
-
Klopp is building a good squad up there despite the criticism. They need another centre back, but if I were a Liverpool fan, I would be encouraged by what's going on there.
-
He's not going to Liverpool. They're buying Naby Keita and have enough HG talent already.
-
Looks like we're getting Ox, Dan, and another Fernando this week. If they're all done before deadline day, then can we expect one more on deadline day for left back? Maybe the backups are Moses/Ox and Pedro for wingback. I like the Ox signing. I think he will become an improved player at Chelsea.
-
If we're going end up with Barkley/Drankwater, Baba Rahman, etc., we might as well just sign another expensive striker this week. I cannot see this window ending well for CFC at this point. Far too late and whoever sells is going to pay a bigger price than ever before in their league's standings.
-
Need new wingbacks for both sides.
-
Everton didn't threaten. That's the story of this match. Nice play by Fabregas. Moses did nothing for attack (again). Ruediger looking very composed, strong, calm, skilled. Chelsea need more players.
-
I keep checking, but my heart is only half into football, in general anymore. Keep checking with the memory of good Chelsea matches I've seen in the past and fun matches in the future, but.... ugh.
-
8 days remain. We need 4 players minimum to be serious contenders for a trophy outside of the league cup and to be in the top 4 of the Prem. Batshuayi ain't gonna cut it, need at least one wingback, one CM, maybe one dual-purpose MF who can play WB too. That's four including a replacement striker for Michy. Good luck with that in 8 days.
-
I have to wonder how much of it is down to who is doing the negotiating for CFC.
-
Christensen is starting in CM
-
guys, I've seen the starting XI already: Moses-Azpi-Luiz-Ruediger-Alonso Kante-Christensen-Bakayoko MOrata----Willian
-
No, it's 352 with Christensen in CM, Willian up top with Morata, Ruediger's at CB. so, that's Christensen, Bakayoko and Kante in CM.
-
Smart lineup and formation by Conte. I haven't seen the bench. I'm excited to see Christensen operate in MF.
-
Too isolated in 1st half, and failed to take advantage on 3 or 4 chances he did have, including one free header he failed to put on target. Half Clement's fault, half Abraham's shortcoming.
-
yea and the reason that makes zero sense is that he's barely played and when asked to do so, was arguably out of his natural position. I think that you're not even making judgment on the player; you're probably reacting to the talk/hype of other fans regarding RLC. Give him time and just forget it.
-
Based on what? Doesn't make any sense.
