  1. When you have Hazard and Morata plus a slow Cesc as your three top attacking players in the entire squad against high-pressing, quicker ManCity, what do you expect? Chelsea don't have enough attacking quality across their formation.
  2. We are handicapped by having only 3 really good attackers in our entire squad: Morata, Hazard and Cesc, plus we're handicapped between Cahill and Alonso to some degree. What can you do versus Pep's City with our squad, esp. after Morata goes out?
  3. Not enough in this squad, but if Willian's in for the rest of the match, the sub must be one of the other centre midfielders for Batshuayi ... or we just play for a goalless draw and IDK the sub.
  4. With one suspension, one centre midfield injury (Danny) and one tired veteran (Cesc), our squad feels thin --unless one thinks of Kyle Scott, JC-S, and Kenedy as the depth we need during times of fixture congestion. Going to be rough.
  5. Put Willian in as attacking CM in front of Kante and Bakayoko if Cesc isn't up for this one. Been sloppy lately anyway.
  6. should have pushed for Mendy and other strong, fast and skilled options more instead of singularly moving for for Sandro. I'm hoping Kenedy gets time and has 9-10 strong performances this season.
  7. He has been sloppy lately, but I think the big thing is that he is so slow and more predictable individually and within the Chelsea formations due to the fact that he continues to be one of the 3 biggest threats Chelsea have to offer. Fabregas, like Hazard could be a greater threat if Chelsea had more high skill players offering greater threats on attack. When we face ManCity, there's a good chance that we will see a stark contrast with deBruyne, Silva and both fullbacks/wingbacks offering much greater threat than what Chelsea have to offer an opponent any given weekend. Shame we didn't try hard to buy Mendy instead of a quixotic quest just for Sandro.
  8. I am loving this player. He's not yet the exciting player that Ruud van Nistelrooy or Didier Drobga were, but I have a feeling that because he has the skill, adaptability, the manager, and he's one who is very emotionally level and intelligent, he has real potential to be our main man for years to come.
  9. We definitely need to get better crosses into the box this season from centre back, wingback and every position on the field possible. I am LOVING Morata! I didn't watch this entire match just yet, but it seems to have swung nicely for us in the 2nd half whereas the first half I felt we didn't move the ball quickly enough. I hope Luiz isn't struggling physically and that his discipline improves. So happy for this win though!
  10. Atletico look ready to tear us apart now. Our attacks were too slow for the first 35 minutes. Probably not going to be a good result in the end unless we get something from throw-ins or free kicks/corners.
  11. Close to being our best lineup except for Cahilla and Moses. With our lack of effective interplay on attacks using Pedro and Willian, this season we should probably see a lot more of 3 centre midfielders with Fabregas. Having more centre midfielders, another wingback and someone like Llorente would have helped us for this season. Willian might be the CAM backup to Fabregas for the season. He rarely puts in a good cross.
  12. At the beginning of last season, he played so well for us that I was ready to FORGET EVERY RESERVATION I HAD ABOUT HIM and even thought about buying his shirt. But what did he do... AGAIN???? Every season it was something. So, although you clearly don't understand why people don't like him, it might be easier to understand why fans like myself would still rather buy a Drogba shirt after three years of Diego's superb-then-disappointing cycles. If it were injury problems all of us would be more understanding. His teammates would always get along with him because he brings levity and enjoyment among them; that means nothing to fans who see a petulent prick who doesn't give it his best effort during a whole season 3 years running.
  13. Meh, I never saw it that way during wintertime and during spats. On again, off again doesn't really count as "giving it his all" while fully healthy.
  14. Nice banner. LOLz for Merseyside (and for anyone else).
  15. We're lacking solid interplay between the forwards and between the fwd line and midfield+wing backs. Morata is not culpable; it's others who aren't combining well.
  16. Good win, nice shooting by Alvaro. However, this ineptitude up top with Pedro has been irritating. We got ahead in this match on mistakes by Stoke while Stoke were bossing the match and Morata was getting zero help from Pedro. Result could have been very different without those Stoke fuck-ups and maybe some health centre backs for them. Luckily, Stoke also don't play with a real striker. Start thinking Musonda off the bench behind Willian and Hazard. Pedro can shoot, but WTH is he doing all match?
  17. We can only hope that next time we encounter the kind of tactics Wenger's Arsenal used that Conte responds more quickly by setting up more players in centre midfield.
  18. Nice performance from Bakayoko. All three of Tiemoue, Antonio, and Andreas have filled me with some confidence about our new squad so far this season.
  19. He's only a new player at Spurs, but it looks like he lacks the ability to beat a defender and doesn't have good crossing technique. Mediocre. Mendy, on the other hand, would have been a hell of a LWB signing. Has everything it seems.
  20. I was thinking the same thing last week about Alvaro. Hopefully he gains grit and scores goals in the Premier League. Both of them are capable of scoring goals in every way possible, but we'll see how good Alvaro's long range shots are with time.
  21. Nice win against a clearly inferior opponent. Not a ton of chemistry between Bats, Willian, and Pedro up top, Fabregas a poor first half passing. Positive: Zappacosta performance, Pedro goal, Kante performance, Christensen performance.
  22. This bald cunt ref is one of the 3 worst in the Premier League. Happy if we get this win.
  23. A player well worth watching on a Prem side that looks like a relegation contender.
