  1. I like Nathan and I think he'll make it here, but not now, he's some 2 or 3 years away from being in the squad. There are 20 PL clubs, at least 15 of them are constantly desperate for a talented player, how come not one of them thought Nathan had the level required to play in the PL this season? That's my point.
  2. What, I couldn't be more wrong in saying that Pogba is more talented than Chalobah? Have you seen him play lately? Pogba wasn't rescued, he wanted 50k a week to sign a pro contract with United, they didn't want to give him that kind of dough, so he left and never looked back. Take your blue tinted specs for a second and think objectively.
  3. No; my point was footballers aren't plucked out of a conveyor belt nor created out of a stencil, if they were, there would be hundreds of Messis. One's career is primarily dependable of one's talent. Clubs coach, prepare and nurture them, that's all. On your second point, you're wrong once again, Chalobah is talented yes, but if he was of the same level of talent of say Pogba, he wouldn't be struggling in the Championship this season. There are different levels of talent, that's my point.
  4. Youth development doesn't quite work that way. It's not like making a car, as I said above it all depends on the intrinsic level of talent of the player in the first place. Coaching, training. etc. only serve to prepare players for their careers. Barcelona have been developing players for decades, but how come there has been only one Lionel Messi? If you watch clips of him on youtube at the age of 5, he's virtually the same player.
  5. I genuinely don't know. He's excelling in Holland and I think he's got the potential to be a great player, Rodgers was apparently keen to snatch him from us in September, perhaps that could be his next move on loan so he can then make it here or else where. A player's career depends on his innate level of talent and the performances on the pitch, it's all up to him really. And that goes for all our loanees and youth players. The truly great players always make it to the top of the pyramid, barring injuries or any psychological problems.
  6. I thought he had to go on loan, he only went to the Championship because there were no Premier League clubs after him for some reason. I don't think it's the Club's or Mourinho's fault on this one.
  7. Harsh on Piazon, he's been fantastic at Vitesse, and is so far one of the best players in the Eredivisie this season, and like he says, they play football the right way there, no hoofing. It was a great league for Suarez to hone his skills, Piazon is getting exactly what he needs, games.
  8. Pogba over Witsel any day of the year. If we can get him here, we should make it happen. He'd walk into our first 11 next to Ramires.
  9. I sincerely hope that's not the case. He has been nothing short of terrible for us and for England. It's a game worth 3 points, no need for passengers in the side in makeshift positions they can't fill. Enough is enough.
  10. Just got done watching the rest of their game, wow, he's got the lot this fella. Majestic on and off the ball.
  11. No chance of doing that unless you've got machine like players in Luis Gustavo and Paulinho, who can defend, press and bomb forward with finesse all day long. That's why I'm so adamant when it comes to Frank having such a free pass in a vital position for us. It hurts the team.
  12. Brazil's high pressing is something to behold, 5 players up the field stifling the opposition until their knees buckle. I thought Oscar had a great game.
  13. I saw him live in the Olympics last year, always been a fan, stylistically I'd say he's Zidanesque although he plays as a SS/ACM.
  14. I think he could do a better job than Lampard in the pivot, but Mikel now is better than both.
  15. Now reports saying Martino's Barcelona are also after him; we really need to look after this lad better and get someone of his ilk to play alongside him.
  16. He is excellent defensively, he can shield the ball like a boss and spray a pass. That's why he should be playing.
  17. That's yet another good game under Mikel's belt then.
  18. Beast of a left back Ricardo, but isn't it a little too early to really look for replacements for Ash? He's had two tough games but he's still quick and should be able to improve once he's back in the side.
  19. Mangala would walk straight into our starting 11. I can't wait for January.
  20. That's what I've been saying since forever really, we have a really sub-par pivot and all the other sides know that, it's the only reason why we haven't clicked.
  21. I actually ended up watching the game and I have to say Brazil were lucky not to pick up any injuries, the Hondurans were out and out brutal. It's a good thing none of our boys played the full 90 minutes.
  22. Mikel has played well in his last five games for us Phil, that you can't deny.
