It was reported in The Sun newspaper this morning that the player was ready to hand in a request in the hope of forcing through a move to Chelsea. Chelsea have made several bids for the central defender, with the most recent being for £30m, and they have all been rejected.

Everton have reportedly agreed a fee for River Plate defenderRamiro Funes Mori, according to the Liverpool Echo. The Blues are monitoring the defender with a view to bring him in as competition to Phil Jagielka and John Stones, and reports suggest they are a step closer to bringing the Argentina international to Goodison Park.

And it is understood that the Premier League champions have outbid rivals Manchester United for the Spain international, while the Blues have also reached an agreement with the player to move to Stamford Bridge this season. This isnt a typical overreaction post, this is a seriously worried Chelsea fan about this season and need to vent after being embarassed this evening. Most of our players look lethargic, Fabregas and Hazard have shocked me at how unprepared they look. I believe a lot of that is the lack of competition, serious competition for places this year. We are coasting. We have coasted in the transfer market, we are coasting with our team selections, and we are not addressing the elephants in the room aka our central midfield and our right back position. We have just been humiliated by Man City, and they look like we did last season. Fresh and up for the challenge. We look like they did. Totally out of ideas early on and floundering. I hope I'm wrong but this season could be a downer. We MUST come out all guns blazing in the next game not only for a results sake but for the sake of our pride. Some transfers to develop the team would be good before the window shuts. I'm not normally one to be like this, as most of you can tell from my previous posts but something HAS to be done. That being said. WELL DONE ASMIR BEGOVIC. The only player to give me pride to be a Chelsea fan. Play him next game. I'll leave it there while I go and pretend football doesn't exist until next weekend

Hoping that this is a turning point. Either by hair dryer treatment from Jose or a glaring sign that something is not right with the squad. Not saying wholesale changes because that would be ludicrous but the summer dealings we have had (so far) has shown arrogance almost, like we could walk the league again with near enough the same team. It won't happen. Come on guys, one way or another sort it out.

Also Costa's constant state of wanting a fight is draining on me already. I like a player to get stuck in and show some spirit but its silly.

We are so fucking stale. Like Man City last season. A little bit of pace and we are off the rails. Worried.
