We lacked his off the ball runs against West Brom. Hazard is a better dribbler but he still doesn't look to make penetrable runs in between the full back and center back like Schurrle does. I like how a lot of German players who play on the wings look to get into these positions, running between the full back and center back to try and get into scoring positions. Perhaps you don't think its much but its something that only Schurrle seems to do regularly in our team. Even if he doesn't get the ball if he makes the run he takes an opposition player with him or opens up space.

I get it that it wasn't a great match in terms of attack, but he had a great first half closing the door to all Shitty attempts on his side.

he has a knack for getting into goal scoring positions, did he learn from master lamps?

The bit i have quoted is the best thing i have read here for quite some time, you have hit the nail firmly on the head. It does my head in when people don't think more outside the box and enroll the same tired cliches.
Making Lukaku our number 1 forward would have been a lot to ask for him in itself so young, but factoring the youth of the AM's then the demand get's higher. On the face of it Willian's signing didn't make sense, but before we were a Mata injury away from having to rely on 22 year old's to drive us forward in the biggest tournament's in the world, add a raw 20 year old being our numero uno up front, and well you get the picture. If our forward 4 were that young it would have then been incredibly hard to have played MVG (yes i know he's injured, but he wasn't at the time).
It's easy to say throw them all in because of their potential and eventually they will win us trophies, but look at what happened Arsenal, it doesn't work like that.
Experience is such an under-rated asset in football, not only does it add calm to situation's, but young players learn from that, young players won't learn as much from fellow pro's in their position as they would from Eto'o, Lampard, Ramires and Mata. Players who are in their prime or been around the block.

I'm not against him at all man. I for one couldn't get my head around on why we loaned him. But when he was gone it made sense, definitely in hindsight. I did want him to play, cause personally I don't care if we win the league, I wanted him to develop with us. It's only sad when people go on and on and on about how Jose's shit just cause he loaned a player to give him more time. That kinda screws it up for me.

The ball to him was immense but that was 50% of it, the touch and spin by Schurrle was superb.
I really like this lad.

He's gonna be our German engine. He's not as technical as our other AMs but he is still very effective. A great card to have up our sleeves.

I was focused on him a lot the entire match and the run he made for the goal was probably the 20th that type of run he made. He can be as effective without the ball as he is with it. He is different from all our other AMs, and he will only carve out a larger and larger role as the year goes on. He's still young, he can become an excellent player, a key player for us.
Like someone said before, we should try him on the LW and Hazard on the RW a few times. Hazard was very good last year at RW as well, plus Schurrle doesn't really need to link up too much to be effective so no help from Cole won't hurt him as much as it does Hazard. Whereas on the right, Ivanovic and Cesar go forward a lot better than Cole which will help Hazard.

I think he should start on the left and hazard on the right he is much more direct when playing that position

It's hilarious how much people react to a player's last match. All players have bad games and good games, it doesn't just suddenly swing them from being bad too good players or vice versa. You can go through some player's threads and see "he's useless" followed by "what a player" followed by " he sucks, we need to buy XXX instead" in the course of 3 games.

Lol, don't be so melodramatic. No one had said that Schurrle is better than Hazard; all everyone is saying is that Schurrle is in better form than the Belgian hence why he deserves a start.

If it was Kevin De Bruyne who put in that performance, there would be a month long wank fest in his player profile regardless of the opponents.

No one said schurrle is better than hazard.
We all know hazard is pure class, but he hasn't produced so far this season and there are rumors of him carrying an injury.
So it will be wise for him to rest and completely heal of the injury instead of rushing back when schurrle can fill up for him in the meantime.

Thank goodness people are finally starting to come around to Schurrle's quality. He'll be an immense player for us, gives us something so different.
Hazard, Mata, Willian, Schurrle, Oscar, KDB. When all on form and when all have gotten more used to playing with each other it's going to be a deadly thing to watch.

Just amazing what a performance can do to turn people's heads. I always believed in him and knew what he was capable of. He has got around double figures or near for the past 3 seasons and is only 22. Loads of years to improve and while people question his finishing it is clear that he can score as his record has shown. Give him time and that will come also. Just funny seeing the amount of comments before the game yesterday who believed that he was not capable of playing and should make way for KDB etc.
Amazingly some people judged him on pre-season and used this as reason to show why he might flop here or used it as proof to show why KDB is a better player. Schurrle is suited to the PL because he is fast, direct and always looks to beat his man and is very fast on the ball. I am sure this is just the start. We will see him score a few this season, I am sure about that. Got 16 goals for club and country last season which is very decent.
He has got years and years to keep improving and that is the great thing. Don't think Martin/Whittaker knows what is in store for them on Sunday
