Exactly. How the fark do you keep a CB on the pitch when he's on a yellow and likes to get into challenges? Stupid decision making and then subbing on Tosin who can't defend for his life. These dropped points to Leeds and Burnley (and many others) will cost us top 5 this season as I see Liverpool overtaking us.

I was talking to me mate, and against Wolves I said even at 3-0 up I can never feel confident we can see the game out, it's relevant every game for us. And as for Palmer amongst other things, not all the time but most of it he's lost his first touch, I was fucking raving watching the ball bounce of his foot, he's so badly regressed he had no reason to look pissed off being subbed, he deserved it.

I am pretty depressed at the state of the team in terms of both near and longer term outcomes Palmer's regression (regardless of causation) and the unacceptably low level of quality we have at CB are extremely troubling

Still cant get over it. Palmers miss as if he cant run fast enough when through on his own. And Fofana and his usual stupid tackles. And im afraid we have another idiot as a manager. When your defender is on a yellow you make a change at half time especially as he selected 5 centre halves on the bench also unbelievable. Its basic common sense.

Everton are set to launch a £30m bid for Chelsea's 23-year-old English striker Liam Delap this summer. (Teamtalk), external It just keeps getting better and better....OK i'll stop now.
-
yes, he turns 30yo near the end of next season
-
The craziest part was he celebrated that tackle he made like giving them a corner was a good thing 😆
-
Santos also conceded the corner that led to the goal. Still, that was poor organization all around. Can only help but wonder if James would've done a better job organizing the defenders had he stayed on. Odd choice to sub him instead of Enzo for the final few minutes., especially when we had a lead to defend.

Theyre analysing the Burnley goal on MOTD 3 times they had the same opportunity from corners. Some of ours just ball watching - Santos just let Fleming run onto it, didnt move

Buying youngsters to sell on makes good business sense but not football sense. You need a balance of youth and experience. United’s kids of '93 were only successful because they came through the youth set up together and they still had experienced leaders to help. We have none of that. But as long as this makes money the owners won’t care.

The players partying and relaxing for a few days shouldn’t fucking matter against Burnley at home. We created a dozen chances good enough to win that game and they choked or scuffed their lines. If we had sleepwalked through that with zombieball and our players still looked hung over that’s one thing. Then you could say the mini holiday was a factor. That’s not the case over the 90 minutes where we should’ve scored a bunch on guilt edged chances. The Palmer we saw at his best would be having a 20 PL goal season from open play in this current team. The fact that he is still miles off that level is killing us. Likewise Estevão being constantly in and out of the squad with injuries or personal matters. Feels like we haven’t seen a run of games with him, João Pedro and Palmer together more than like a couple of times.

If we compare what we were before Abramovich to what we are now, the club made a massive leap. Even if we can’t fight for titles right now, we’ll never be completely irrelevant — but we could end up in a drought of major trophies for many years. Truth be told, we haven’t really challenged for the league since Conte’s first season. We hit the jackpot with Abramovich, and now we’ve got terrible luck with this new ownership. We’re two-time European champions, we’ve won everything — including the UEFA Super Cup, Club World Cups, and Europa Leagues — but it’s sad not to have any real hope of competing for the biggest prizes again.

Their investments make money through a combination of strategic management, financial leverage, and targeted investments. We are only part of the set up. The team winning stuff is way down the list of priorities.
-
What are the odds that Tosin being the first CB to come on today means that he'll start against Arsenal?
-
And we used to laugh when they celebrated reaching top 4 but winning nothing..now its us...thats our aim.
-
I think the times of fighting for major titles like league championships and the Champions League are over. Even if a new management comes in the future, we won’t find another Abramovich spending huge amounts for the club to compete. I don’t think those times will return anytime soon, at least.
-
that’s true
-
But at least they made top4 we are a joke
-
2 shots on target.. thats how bad we were really.

Rosenior mostly gets a pass from me for this one. As a manager your job is to put your best attackers in positions to score or cause danger to defenders and that’s exactly what he did here. Palmer, Neto, and Pedro all had golden chances to put this game out of reach and fucked all of them. Numerous times standing in space inside the box and fucked it up every time. Manager can’t put the ball in the net. The chance creation was there, the midfield control was there, the limiting of the opponent to minimal chances was there. What wasn’t was our finishing when dominant which is a problem again and again.
-
With the run in we have..little chance..maybe they'll surprise us but won't be disappointed or surprised if dont make top 5 because thats where we are now. Top 5 or nothing really..not a trophy winning side thats for sure

Be a bit hard for them when we don’t have UCL next season. And we’ve already been struggling to find a permanent shirt sponsor so imagine how difficult is going to be to convince some company to fork over mega money on us once we aren’t in the elite competition. Yeah, unlike us I can actually picture Liverpool going on a long winning run to end the season if they get on a roll of 2-3 wins. We basically need to play completely out of our skin week after week against top sides WITH UCL and FA Cup sprinkled in. I just cannot see how we do it with this squad. The mentality and maturity simply isn’t there.

reminds me of Wenger’s young teams, they used to win fuck all.
