He won us a the CWC. He scored in our most important match this season against Napoli and won us the game. Scores again in our last game which LR described as our most important game in the league - and that was true to maintain that top 5 position. The style of goals he has scored this season, his ability to shoot off both feet, hold the ball up, link up, work in the air. Not my fault you can't differentiate closest thing to a Didier we've had to "OMG hes better than Drogba bro!". Their games are similar, and they show up in big moments, and even when they don't score they are effective. We haven't had this style of striker since DD. Go play outside dude.

And some of us don't post hyperbole match after match. You can have your opinion without trying trying to gaslight people into people thinking about something thats not even true. I'm not saying Joao Pedro sucks. Far from it. I literally posted thanks for his goals in the last Premier league match. But I dont have to gaslight people into thinking he's much better than he really is. I didn't really care much for your hyperbole at first, but when you keep banging on and on about it and then attack other members for having a different opinion, then I'm sorry. Its very rich coming from you.

Obviously Arsenal are quite good but they weren’t all that tonight, that game was there for the taking. As I said, good results so far but performances defos up & down. He has maybe has limited time on the training field but we aren’t really seeing anything thats hugely different from before with Maresca are we? Other than application and energy. The formation has changed slightly but the philosophy is similar. On the formation, did anyone think the back 3 made any meaningful change to our performance tonight? And that game plan cost us in the end. It definitely wasn’t the right way to go. If it was the right way to go, we’d be in the final. Maybe quieten the crowd & manage the game for the first 15 minutes but don’t just effectively do it for the full first half when your the team that needs a goal - against statistically the best defensive team in Europe more or less - to have a chance. Was bizarre that it took us to after HT to actually try and have a proper go. Even then, was all style and no substance but still, took too long to show that intent. Maybe we had shots, more possession etc but no big chances. At least the goal we conceded wasn’t a stupid one for once. They did what we had been doing to them for years with other managers, controlled the game without controlling the ball, bided their time to we overcommitted and killed us when they had the chance.

lol you guys wait for one game where JP doesn't score and you slight him. He has literally scored in every big game this season for us bar today. Some of you really have rose tinted glasses for the past.
-
I still think it's a new manager bounce. I'm not impressed. I will wait if he is still here after two seasons...

Anyone who doesn't acknowledge that Arsenal are quite good and that Rosenior is making some progress in a fixture crunch is not living in reality. Look at the season Arsenal are having - top of the league and 8/8 in Champions League. Running them as close as we did over two legs was more than what I hoped for. The gameplan today to sit back was the right way to go because the moment Arsenal score a goal, the tie was over.

What Mamadou Sarr will bring to Chelsea and why Liam Rosenior might have wanted him back https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7015638/2026/02/03/mamadou-sarr-Chelsea-analysis-liam-rosenior/ Speaking to British journalists in impressively fluent English during last summer’s Club World Cup, Mamadou Sarr was asked about then-Strasbourg coach Liam Rosenior’s public insistence that he has “world-class” potential. “When I was a kid, I had a dream,” he replied. “It was to be the best centre-back in the world. I trust him (Rosenior), and I trust me.” It was a response that revealed so much about Sarr, and also sheds light on why Rosenior is so keen to have the 20-year-old at his disposal for the rest of this season at Stamford Bridge. The defender’s loan spell at Strasbourg was cancelled on Monday, with Sarr coming back to west London. Sarr joined Chelsea permanently last summer and was part of the squad for the Club World Cup on the back of a 2024-25 season in which he had established himself as a key contributor for Rosenior, making 27 starts in Ligue 1. His experience in the United States was positive for his development — and his medal collection — but it was clear that Enzo Maresca did not deem him ready for a big role; he played just eight minutes from the substitutes’ bench in a comfortable 3-0 group-stage win over ES Tunis. Returning to Strasbourg and Rosenior last summer was the logical choice, and it gave Sarr six months more seasoning as a regular starter in Ligue 1. But circumstances at Chelsea have now shifted considerably; Rosenior has replaced Maresca, and Levi Colwill, the left-sided centre-back who was principally blocking the Senegal international’s path to the starting XI, remains a long-term absentee as he recovers from an ACL injury. Benoit Badiashile has not managed to seize what appeared to be his best opportunity to establish himself in the heart of Chelsea’s defence in Colwill’s absence. Rosenior could be seen talking to him several times about his passing out from the back in the first half against West Ham on Saturday. The Frenchman was then substituted at the break. Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah are currently Rosenior’s favoured centre-back pairing, but neither man is particularly confident with his left foot. While technically also right-footed, Sarr is very comfortable using his left, and that matters because of the additional angles it opens up when Chelsea are attempting to play out of defence, through and around opposition pressure. During his breakthrough campaign for Strasbourg in 2024-25, Sarr marked himself out as being capable of breaking the opposition lines with passes punched through the middle of the pitch, as well as less risky balls down the left side… It was a similar story for Sarr in the first half of this Ligue 1 season, with a slight shift towards more passes angled out towards the left touchline… Sarr is also comfortable defending high up the pitch with space behind him, which should make him a good fit for Rosenior’s aggressive man-to-man approach out of possession… During their time together at Strasbourg, Rosenior encouraged Sarr to be more vocal on the pitch. It is something Sarr has also prioritised in his choice of role models. “I want to be like Virgil van Dijk,” Sarr said last summer. “He’s a leader. For a defender, it’s very important to be a leader. I love Van Dijk, but some people tell me I play like Ibrahima Konate. It’s very similar.” Chelsea’s desire for a centre-back with this particular blend of qualities was underlined by their exploration of signing Van Dijk as a free agent last summer, before he re-committed to Liverpool. It also manifested in their January pursuit of Rennes starlet Jeremy Jacquet, who ultimately decided on a move to Anfield instead. There is a world in which recalling Sarr proves to be a better football decision than paying the market rate for Jacquet, as well as being the cheaper option. For starters, he is available to help Chelsea immediately, rather than being acquired as a marquee summer signing six months ahead of time. Sarr also knows exactly what he is walking into at Cobham. He spent a very productive summer with this Chelsea squad and is particularly familiar with Malo Gusto — a former team-mate at Lyon — and Andrey Santos, who captained his Strasbourg team. Premier League football will be a big step up, but there will be no surprises in what Rosenior wants from him on the pitch. What You Should Read Next Andrey Santos: The key cog in the way Chelsea want to play under Liam Rosenior The young Brazilian is flourishing alongside Moises Caicedo in a double midfield pivot, with Rosenior having also leant on him at Strasbourg Competition for minutes in Chelsea’s defence in the second half of the season will be fierce, even if Colwill does not return. Fofana and Chalobah have developed a productive chemistry through regular starts, while Badiashile and Tosin Adarabioyo are seasoned professionals who will expect to be involved when fit. Then there is Josh Acheampong, nine months younger than Sarr, whose lack of opportunities in recent weeks has become a source of growing angst for some in the fanbase. But if the increased prominence of Santos since Rosenior’s arrival is anything to go by, it would not be hugely shocking if Sarr ends up being much more than squad ballast at Chelsea. Also for me, starting to feel more and more like Rosenoir will talk the talk but cannot walk the walk. Regardless of performance, every week these players are outstanding etc and player X, Y or Z gave me everything but you can only hear that so many times. He has had a good run of results granted but performances have been so up & down. Napoli and West Ham games perfect examples. 2 halves, 2 conflicting performances. Tonight toothless. Big missed opportunity given the nature of the game & how it played out - they were there for the taking in certain moments in the second half when we got momentum but we lack personality and quality in areas where it matters most. You just knew nobody was stepping up when it mattered.

they could win at least 7 trophies linearly (going into next season) League Cup FA Cup EPL CL UEFA Super Cup (August 12, 2026, IF they win the CL this season) Community Shield FIFA Intercontinental Cup (December 2026, IF they win the CL this season. PSG won it in 2025, Real Madrid in 2024, the first time it was played since the old IC was last played in December 2004, won by Porto on pens, under Víctor Fernández, who took over for Mou as he came here to Chels after Porto won the CL in 2004. Porto also earlier had won the UEFA Super Cup in August 2004, also under Fernández. Mou never won the IC, nor the FIFA Club World Cup nor the UEFA Super Cup, as he left after he won the CL both times, and lost the UEFA Super Cup twice, in 2003 with Porto, to AC Milan after he won 2002-2003 Europa League with Porto, and then lost it again, this time with with us in 2013, to Bayern, after Chels had won the 2012-2013 Europa League under the FSW)

: Liam Rosenior: "I have to give the players so MUCH credit. Our schedule has been incredible and for them to put in the energy and effort is amazing." "Reece (James) is an incredible captain and leader and Pedro (Joao) is an outstanding professional and a great player." "Cole (Palmer) is a GEM. We have to take care of him for the rest of the season." "We can't let this result affect the remainder of our season." "I'm extremely disappointed every time we lose a game of football. I'm hurting but we have to move on... we have another game in 3 days."
-
Rosenior on SkySports: "We felt with the game plan that we had a good chance to come through. The result was not what we wanted. I am seeing clear improvements in three and a half weeks or four weeks since I have been here but tonight the result didn't go our way." "Up to 60 minutes (it went to plan), we lost Pedro and Reece this morning. We hope to have them back at the weekend. Cole, we have to look after him, he has had a really difficult last eight/nine months with the amount of game he has played, he played a full 90 vs West Ham you could see his quality right away when he came on. Estevao has been away in Brazil (on compassionate leave) and rightfully so with his family. We needed to make sure we gave ourselves the best chance and the tie didn't run away from us in the first half. I felt we dominated in the second half, the game plan went the way we wanted it to but we just couldn't find the breakthrough."

Arsenal havent won it since 1993, but 'theyre the greatest team the World has ever seen' according to their fans. Bless
-
Hence it being a small plus...I want us in finals and this was a chance! Might not get one during the FA Cup. To be so flat as well...we havent won a domestic trophy in however many years. Dont think even be winning minor trophies to be honest..
-
Getting to a final in a cup competition like the Carabao Cup would’ve been nice though. And winning it, even better. We are only going to win the minor trophies with this group and ownership though. We will not be winning league or Champions Leagues. Maybe the net spend champions trophy will come back out though? Just like when folk were absolutely over the moon we signed Enzo, Caicedo & Lavia for a net spend of whatever it was and that was all they went on about 😂 BlueCo out!
-
Yep..up until our diaster run of finals all was lovely! Then it went to shite. Domestic wise anyway! Set a record no-one else will beat
-
What’s the point in watching if the club aren’t interested in winning?
-
We used to dominate semi finals and finals, we now accept a half hearted semi final performance as 'alright' I think we are following the theme of board, a management and settling for just being stable What a shame
-
Chelsea didn't put a foot wrong today, but not much to write about either in terms of attacking play. Guess that also settles the Joao Pedro - Drogba comparisons. Good player and he will do a job for us this season, but a WC team will need more from its strikers, especially against the toughest defenses.
-
For teams that needed the goal we didnt create. Arsenal didn't need the goal and they just did their thing... Onto the next league game and all
-
Palmer may as well be on crutches, blokes fucked Joao Pedro as good as his form has been is just middle of the road and we have settled for it We don't compete anymore, we have a few lions but more and more pussy cats
-
Another way to look is we got to 6 finals in a row and lost them all sooo we couldve get to a 7th and also lose that 🤣😭 small plus!! Its it nice we set records that are hard to beat! And cant see that one being anytime.soon
-
Quad....DUNNNNNNN. No thank you!!

João Pedro is a great footballer and is capable of some spectacular finishes but we still don’t have that dominant #9 who can apply relentless pressure and get loads of shots away. He was great in the first half but then got completely gobbled up and nullified in the second half when he was marked closer. And yes, I agree that Palmer is just hurting himself long term the longer he carries on like this. He is desperate to play in the World Cup and is therefor refusing to get surgery. He seriously looks like a completely different p,Ayer than he was in the past 2 seasons.
