Rosenior: Outstanding and talented players want success (videos at the link as well) https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/article/rosenior-outstanding-and-talented-players-want-success After two days on the training pitches at Cobham, Liam Rosenior says he is working with 'outstanding, talented players' at Chelsea and believes the Blues can become a 'world-class team'. After being appointed on Tuesday and taking a watching brief against Fulham, Rosenior got down to work at our Surrey training base yesterday. The 41-year-old's first session was with the players who didn't play significant minutes at Craven Cottage. His second, held this morning, was with the wider first-team group. Rosenior appreciates that he will get to know his squad better in time, but he has no doubts about the quality the Blues possess. It's simply about that being realised and showcased game in, game out. 'I'm very excited to work with this group,' our new head coach explained during his first press conference. 'I've had two wonderful days being welcomed by them and by everyone – I feel at home already. 'The players have been magnificent with me and their engagement and how they've made my staff and me at home, and now I want to get into the games with them.' Born a couple of miles away from Stamford Bridge, Rosenior knows the history of the club he now leads. He also understands and values the club's culture and tradition of success. In addition to watching from the stands against Fulham, he has also looked back on our previous performances, including our 1-1 draw against Manchester City, at the end of which captain Reece James was named Player of the Match. James, a boyhood Chelsea supporter, is someone who has already impressed Rosenior, both on and off the pitch. yet our new head coach believes the Blues skipper can reach even greater heights in the future. 'I've analysed the recent games we've played in and I have to say that Reece, in terms of his impact on the group, in terms of his performances when he's been on the pitch, he's growing every day. 'It's exciting to be working with Reece at this stage of his career because I think he has levels that he can go even beyond what he's performing now. I think that's where a lot of these players are. Rosenior added: 'What I've learned in the last two days, not just about Reece or the leadership group, all the players want success. All of them are honest. They've worked magnificently for me the last two days and I can't wait to get to know them better.' Rosenior has firmly emphasised in the opening days of his tenure that the youthful make-up of the Chelsea squad is a strength. Yet he appreciates that raw talent alone is not enough to deliver success. 'They are outstanding and talented players with huge potential and the job for me is to turn that potential into reality,' he explained. 'Having potential is one thing; I'm potentially a very good coach, the players are potentially – although some of them already are – world-class players. But we can't be potentially a world-class team; we need to be a world-class team. That's where I'm trying to take the club.'

Aye has improved a lot - not made as many mistakes, keeping out goals he would’ve let in last season, big saves in big moments etc but still the bar is low based on his first 2 seasons. His kicking & decision making is going to be an issue and that won’t change either with Rosenoir’s philosophy (look at Penders at Strasbourg, sweeper keeper essentially). He shouldn’t be the clubs long term number 1. Maybe not an immediate issue as CB is probably more pressing (if he can maintain this form for another 18 months or so would allow us to see what Penders is going to do) but still, we need top top players at CB, GK, CF.

Ex-Chelsea player, 33, confirms he has 'days left to live' in heartbreaking update Former Chelsea youngster Lamisha Musonda has revealed he only has days left to live with the 33-year-old issuing a heartfelt statement on social media where he claimed he is "struggling to get my health back" https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/Chelsea-lamisha-musonda-health-update-36525402

You’re always so over the top hostile in EVERY one of your posts. It’s really tiring. Calm the fuck down. I just disagree. He’s a good player. He’s not some world class, massive level raising player for me. And one of the main reasons all of these huge clubs you’ve named are really interested in him is that he’s available for free in the summer or “cheap” by today’s standards this month. Not because he’s some VVD level monster.
-
If we aren’t honest, Sanchez is the least of our problems right now. He has been pretty good this season.

The initial changeout of guys like Neil Bath & Jim Fraser 2 years ago was weird enough. Genuinely we had a great track record throughout all age groups & developing first team players of a certain quality. Bit worried that again, BlueCo’s decision to keep chopping & changing could also end up backfiring on this front as well. Hopefully not, they will need good academy players to sell for compliance with PSR. Was impressed with that. Seemed to give off a lot of positive energy too. Hopefully he gets that into the players because they look absolutely gormless out on the pitch Says he wants to make his own decisions & be his own man - let’s see though, will he be allowed to do so? Not expecting much, speaking well isn’t enough.
-
Seems to be saying all the right things in the presser today, talking about the history and heritage of the club and fans etc Lets wait and see
-
I really hope I’m dead wrong about this hire and we get back to winning ways.

why not? he would deffo, IMHO, be in this group of the best LBs and LWBs on the planet atm: Nuno Mendes Álvaro Carreras Alejandro Balde Marc Cucurella Riccardo Calafiori Alphonso Davies Federico Dimarco Myles Lewis-Skelly Nico O'Reilly Nathaniel Brown Antonee Robinson Rayan Aït-Nouri Destiny Udogie Lewis Hall Andrea Cambiaso Theo Hernández Ian Maatsen Davide Bartesaghi Miguel Gutiérrez Neto would make that list have a total of 20 players
-
really disagree on that these are my current top 20 CBs on the planet: Alessandro Bastoni William Saliba Gabriel Magalhães Dean Huijsen Josko Gvardiol Pau Cubarsí Willian Pacho Murillo Alessandro Buongiorno Micky van de Ven Marc Guéhi Rúben Dias Virgil van Dijk Levi Colwill (IF he fully recovers) Leny Yoro Dayot Upamecano Nico Schlotterbeck Luka Vuskovic Jarrad Branthwaite (IF he fully recovers) Castello Lukeba

Wingback 😂😂😂😂 Please god no

Madrid, Barca, Bayern, Liverpool, Man City & Arsenal all after him but he’s nothing more than a solid PL CB sure 🙄 Trev, Tosin, Fofana & Colwill are all a lot worse than him…. in various different levels. But all worse. I mean you have seem them play for us right? And have seen Guehi play? Seriously? Would be a massive coup to get Guehi, not going to solve every issue we have (lacking an elite GK also) but definitely a massive, massive improvement on what we call a defence.
-
Guehi is levels above Trev and Fofana and he would go a long way to solving our issues
-
🚨 Amidst multiple academy structural changes, Chelsea are set to appoint Dan Hogan as the new U18s Head Coach. Hassan Sulaiman will no longer lead the 18s, and will soon work with the loan group. Hass has been coaching at Chelsea since 2008.
-
In our current state and with other PL giants all wanting him I don’t think Guehi would consider us for a second even with his connection to the club. In fact, us “giving up” on him and selling him is probably something he holds against us. Others may disagree but I feel like I’ve said here before in the last couple of windows that while Guehi is a very solid CB, he isn’t the massive upgrade who’d instantly solves our issues at the back that everyone is desperate for. I don’t think he’s any better than either Fofana or Trev. These are all solid PL CB’s and nothing more for me.

why we will loan essugo if we are short in this position with lavia absence?
-
Ben Roberts back to GK coach. Can someone please tell me why he was given a job title that is “Head of Global Goalkeeping” like the job itself, what does it even entail? Either way - Sanchez is clearly here to stay then.
-
Essugo to go on loan? So we are going to be looking to sign another MF player in January? Can’t rely on just Caicedo, Santos & Enzo every week. Lavia’s fitness & injury record also doesn’t inspire confidence.
-
🔵🗯Kendry Paez on his way to Ipswich Town on loan Essugo could go to Strasbourg on loan. 💥Dario Essugo took some part in Liam Rosenior's first training session today. Academy players like Shim Mheuka, Jesse Derry and Reggie Walsh were involved. (@NizaarKinsella)
