Not much anyone could have done about that. Scoring from 25 yards with your side to goal is quite a feat.

Could have tracked Berahino's run for starters and then Terry just stood off him when he shot at goal.

And sometimes the manager has to make tough decisions and act in the best interest of the player. throwing him into a competitive game is not acting in the players best interest regardless of how Costa feels. If he aggravates his injury or picks up a new one as a result, Jose will (and rightly so) receive the blame.

costa is a fighter. someone who wants to fight for everything. fight for the club even if its a dead rubber. we did not play him against united and arsenal which were title deciders which should tell you that jose must have thought that it is relatively safe to play him.

but i guess you see the negative in anything and everything around here. just keep on cribbing.

Meh I think Matic was trying to prevent the ball to Berahino in the first place and Cahill was closing down Berahino fast. You don't have both CBs closing down a player when they're outside the box, that'd be madness.
