Wayne Rooney

i do not want him ,the three we have need to be given a chance and with Rooney coming we are denying Lukaku his chance which he deserves after his performances for West Brom ,Torres needs one last chance before we write him off and Ba will be in his first full season and needs it to show us his true worth ,if Rooney comes in all of these players will have been overlooked ,because we all know Rooney will want to be looked upon as the star and that will put some noses out of joint. We can re-asses how our strikers have done at Christmas and then if we need Rooney that will be the time to get him.

See it also about rotation what people are missing, Hazard, Mata and say Oscar wont play every game and will need to be rested and or covered for injuries etc. Rooney can play up top or deeper like already said, Ba should be moved on because with three of Lukaku, Torres and Rooney that's enough. You have to take into consideration players will tire and this is the problem last season, we could never look to the bench and replace quality with quality, it was Yossi or Marin sat there. So the scenario is Mata is allowed to start a game from the bench due to tiredness Rooney could fill the gap allowing Lukaku to lead the line and Torres as back up. As bad as Torres has been I certainly wouldn't mind looking to him from the bench to come on and nab a goal, perfectly fine.

Jose can and will integrate them all if we sign Rooney, and if anyone can keep these players happy it's Jose. City have a plethora of top attackers, and it's needed, what's important is keeping them happy and utilizing them to their strengths to benefit the team thus allowing others not to burn out.

It's a long season.

Not many players who hand in a request remain at a club for very long. I might be wrong, but rejecting said request, then benching him could probably be taken to arbitration, certainly grounds for constructive dismissal. These are ppl remember they have rights, you can't let them rot in the reserves.

As for forcing a move to Real or Barca, they have yet to show any interest and would have done so by now given how long this has rumbled on for.

He probably wouldnt be benched tho. Its a world cup year and Roo is gonna need to play so I'm fairly certain they could use him without fear

Yes he is. 27 still massive amounts to offer, can play up top or deeper, knows the league tremendous work ethic and still has four-five good seasons in him.

This makes so much sense to me it's unreal......A fired up and fresh Rooney under a fired up and fresh Jose is worrying.

soon to be 28

fitness doubts

history of injury issues

past his physical peak

out of form playing wise (will he ever return to top form?)

We would help United in a massive way by giving them lots of money for an unsettled player who's unlikely to play a large role for them next season. More funds for them to bring in that marquee signing their fans desperately clamour for this transfer window,

I'm not all negative though. I recognise and trust Mourinho's judgment in bringing in players. I would hope for Mou to get him fired up and get at least 2-3 seasons out of him as a great PL striker. He knows the league obviously as you say and has good work ethic when he's in the right state of mind.

However you only need to look at someone like Suárez who could actually be cheaper over a standard 5-year contract to realise buying Rooney is never going to be a very good deal for us financially (using reasonable figures with £45m fee for Suárez and 120-125k/week, whereas Rooney would be £35m+ fee and wages north of 200k/week).

If one looks at his wages, he puts in the aforementioned transfer that represents millions for the remaining contract of his.

I doubt, Rooney will do that. As I wrote here. He would be a great steal from Manures, but his attitude stinks & what about if he is not happy at Chelsea ? To me, the club just might be better off not signing him & see how it goes with Fernando, Lukaku & BA. Who knows ?

Think about the effect a transfer request would have. It's Moyes' first season with the club which is going to be difficult enough. Imagine what it'll be like if they reject Rooney's transfer request and has every fan booing like crazy and destroying Rooney at every game. He'll be bombarded by Rooney questions at all times and it'll be a MASSIVE distraction for the entire year.

If something goes wrong you'll hear "why didn't Rooney play up top?" or "why was Rooney on the bench?"

If we bid 30m and he hands in a transfer request I think they'll sell. If not, fuck 'em. Let them keep an unsettled player and we can buy Suarez.

I just think it's 50m because it's Arsenal that's bidding. Liverpool think of Arsenal as a direct competitor for that coveted 4th spot. They know we're a class above them so I'd think they be much easier to work with than United.

I'm sure we could do business with them. Maybe something like 35m + Ba since they're gonna need a striker. Ba could thrive there with the play from the wings they have.

We knew they wouldnt accept an extra £2m on our original offer. £23m to £25m wont do the trick, even with add-ons. Because if you are unaware the selling club aren't guaranteed to receive the add-ons as they're dependant on certain criteria being met. So in essence the bid is only £25m. Soon as/if a transfer request goes in, Utd could still reject it, (but it depends how hard Rooney himself pushes and makes a case to move) but soon as it is handed in I'd expect a big bid to go in like £30-35m without add ons.

It is now time for Rooney to make his point heard.
