didierforever 7,349
Uhh...Malouda?did he have buyers? i am sure we would have sold him for a pound if any team had actually put that bid but the point was flo dint want a pay-cut and it dint matter to him if he was benched/relegated to reserves on the other hand rooney wants out just because he is being benched and is not the no.1, very different scenarios. Ze Mario 638
shoulder injury? damn tht should be a real problem when he holds a pen to complete paperwork details expect him to lead us on CL run
Magic Lamps 11,692
All those "Rooney prepared to hand in transfer request". How much "preparation" does a 5 column e-mail need?
Jype 6,398
Maybe we should just withdraw the bid as the cunt seems to be injured all the time.

Slam Dunk 1,442
Do you think his for real? sounds like it actually.Just had a quick glance through. Either the Rooney not travelling to Stockholm story was a good guess or he's actually connected to the club. Although it's hard to believe that a club employee/ex-player would leak information on twitter, so i'm skeptical, but he's adamant that United are announcing a marquee signing tomorrow, so not long to wait to find out.I was against us signing Rooney a while ago, but frankly, he's the only viable option out there at the moment. And we need a striker to complete the squad. So, i'm on board.
DustinC 136
As for the Rooney marketing. I'd buy his shirt guaranteed. He wouldn't be shirt I would personally want most. But it would be a must have to wear to watch matches against United and to fuck with their fans in general.

DustinC 136
Well, I'm just saying typically I would choose the shirt for someone who had been here for a season or two and was a favorite of mine. I want the guy at Chelsea, but realistically he wouldn't be my favorite member of the squad immediately upon signing. Different people get different names on the back for different reasons. Ollie 4,400
I wanted us to get Rooney for a while but now i'm really not feeling it. Maybe because of seeing Drogba yesterday, that's a true Chelsea hero, blue through and through. Then i see someone like Wayne Rooney and his ego, personality, way of being, thuggish cunt scouse angry fat ginger granny sha.... meh.... do i want him to be a Chelsea hero? Absolutely not. Please don't offer £40m.

Ollie 4,400
I just see Rooney and Drogba and i see such a huge difference in class. I'd rather someone who's not like Wayne Rooney. I'd still be excited if he came but i just ... i dunno. I think the guy's classless. I don't wanna compare people to Drogba because Drogba's our greatest striker ever and nobody will ever get close but £30m... £40m... for a guy like Rooney. I'm struggling to pretend i like the idea of spending that much on him.

At the same time the Torres fiasco is still hurting us...

Drogba was immense, truly that good. I even remember speaking with Jonathan Woodgate once and he said to me "I'd cry off injured rather than face Drogba" that is some statement that. Rooney is just a different type of player in terms of feathers to his bow....versatility is one that sticks out and whilst he maybe isn't world class and that is a debate for another day, he is England's golden boy which is a poor plight on English football. I am not for one minute saying Rooney is shite, he isn't, he's top notch, but top notch in amongst a lot of average players for England. We have to look at what we at Chelsea are, and can offer. We now have a manager in place we have craved back for years and one who shouldn't of gone. We have a basis of young, talented and exciting young talent that is being immediately promoted through to the first team...NOW!!!. I think because Rooney has been around so long people forget he's only 27, that really isn't over the hill, it's a great age, not only to be tuned in football wise but also to learn, and learn from a master, which is why it makes sense. Wayne Rooney is a clever footballer, brilliant in fact.....I personally don't like the blokes demeanour but what i love is his willing and desire on a football pitch. He's like JT in many ways, he will role his sleeves up, battle until the final whistle goes and rally any slackers in the team. There is so many positives that outweigh the negatives in this transfer that people just need to trust the board and Jose on this one. KTBFFH Rooney or not.
Mustafa 885
Im starting to think Rooney doesnt want to leave as much as the media are making it out to be... Rooney is a quite vocal lad.. Aside from saying that he's "angry and confused" at the whole 'he's not important' situation, we've heard nothing from him ! And I dont see why he doesnt want to put in a transfer request. If he stays, he'll be playing second fiddle and the United fans will be on his back because of this speculation of him wanting to leave.
