Big words from Jose about fighting until the end for Rooney.....Tells United we won't give in. Apparently another bid coming from us also.

It is not going to be placed until after our game against them on the 26th so the earliest date for next bid is 27th of August. Unless Rooney helps to speed things up before that by handing in a transfer request, refuses to play, going out public with his statements like in 2010 but I doubt he would do any of this. He is more likely going to play for them and if he plays well, Moyes give him first few games at ST to partner or ahead of RVP, fans cheers him like Pool did with Suarez before then I could actually see him staying.

Does he actually think they won't speak about it? If he does he's dafter than I thought he was. Probably already been loads of text and calls flying about.

Guys he's not going come out and talk to the media because everyone knows that he doesn't want to stay.I think it was quite clear from the Lewandowski rumors during Ferguson's reign that Rooney will be surplus to requirements but since that move didn't materialize, things have been really messy.

I think Moyes will let him leave and join us but only on deadline day because by then we would have already played 2 league games( one of which is against United). So I guess he's just trying to delay the move as late as possible.

This saga is the worst of all in my memory. When one deal with clueless Moyes, what can we expect ?

Everyone at manure must know, Rooney does not want to play second fiddle. Many reports, were said about it.

Whether true or not, that is irrelevant, I feel. The bottom line Rooney is one unhappy footballer. Manures are not doing themselves a favor by keeping him on. This rotten apple can create plenty of troubles among the players.

The only winner so far if Jose, I feel.

How much longer will it go on, who knows ?

I agree that Ba is a decent player but would you say he's good enough to lead the line for a team that hopes to challenge for the title? You have Van Persie and City have Agüero, just to put things into perspective. If the answer is no, then I really don't see much of a role for him in the team because we have Lukaku too. He will probably stay and fight for the place with Lukaku but I can see him moving on next year at the latest. He came into the side at a bad time when we desperately needed a stopgap striker to help us qualify for the Champions League but now Romelu is back, we have a new manager and might even have another striker coming in before the window closes. Kind of a shame because he really seems like a nice guy and is actually a pretty good player too but like I said, not good enough to lead us to trophies and not worth risking Lukaku's development either.

I really don't know. He hasn't been given a chance. At least not enough to be able to come to a conclusion either way. He's obviously no RvP or Aguero, but he scores goals. He proved it at a lesser team.

I would play Lukaku anyways...so it doesn't matter.

Are his high wages a problem for United?

No, mate. I think he's having some sort of premature midlife crisis.

I think with the right service, Ba can score 15 goals a season...

I'd pick Ba as the starter against the bigger clubs, see how he goes...and we could always use Lukaku as an impact sub against tired defenders..

As for the smaller/mid-table clubs, Lukaku should definitely start..give him some confidence and then slowly transition him into the big games.

Don't think any transition is needed after his season with West Brom. He's a proven goal scorer in the premier league now and goes into this season with probably the most confidence of all your strikers.
