<br /><br /><br />

Desmond Wolfe is a good subject. They have pulled him from all wrestling and no websites know why. WWE would not hire him due to failing a physical, so his health is poor. I have also read that he may have Aids due to all his blood matches in ROH and on the indy scene. I hope this is not the case.

The feedback this ppv is getting across the net is incredible, various names of wrestlers were trending on Twitter last night and WWE's official website even crashed such was the amount of traffic visiting it. Wrestlers such as The Rock and Steve Austin and well known personalities like JR and Paul Heyman were all universal in their praise for John Cena and CM Punk. The Wrestling Observer have called it one of the best ppv's the WWE has ever done. Watching it last night, the electricity of the Chicago crowd, the pure tension created by this entirely non run of the mill storyline, the drama and interest created by one wrestler, one character that has captivated a sleeping fanbase like none since the heyday of The Rock and Steve Austin, this ppv all revolved around one man, CM Punk. The only problem was, this was his last match for WWE for the foreseeable future, WWE cottoned onto the potential of Punk a bit too late.

The opener, the Smackdown Money In The Bank, was very good. Featuring an incredibly hot crowd (as they were practically all night) it had exciting and hard hitting action. You will probably notice the difference between ladder matches in the last couple of years compared to before and see that there is less high risk spots in current ladder matches than previously, something which was absolutely the right move by WWE, the injuries which can be caused in matches like this can be diabilitating. A shock result in this one as Daniel Bryan won the MITB, the reaction to his victory couldn't have been a better on. Bryan, with his glowing indie reputation and his small frame, is the type of wrestler that has often been shunned by the WWE but his win was a foreshadowing of the irregular WWE behaviour that was to come.

The divas match sucked really bad, Kelly Kelly should not be anywhere near a ring, she's a danger to herself and others.

The Mark Henry vs Big Show match was poor but not piss poor so in a way it exceeded expectations and the injury angle at the end meant we might not have to see Big Show for a few months. Hilariously, as he was being carried off on a medical vehicle, a booming CM Punk chant erupted amongst the audience.

The Raw Money In The Bank was excellent, some great storytelling, cool spots (Evan Bourne's shooting star oress off the ladder was magnificent) and the finish (Del Rio pulling off Mysterio's mask on the ladder) was awesome, even though it sort of backfired when all of the ladders collapsed and Del Rio had to set it up again and quickly climb the ladder for the win. Though his win was more predictable than Daniel Bryan's previously, the reaction to it (remember Del Rio is a heel) was incredible from the live crowd and he is the right man to challenge for the title at Summerslam.

The World Title match between Randy Orton and Christian was crisp, well executed and in general very good. They have had some excellent matches since their feud began and this was another in that series, the finish made absolute sense with the storyline, Orton kicking Christian in the nuts so that Christian won the title by DQ (as per the stipulation). The after match beatdown by Orton on Christian was exactly what it needed to be, the crowd reacted big to it and Orton's execution of it was right on the mark.

And then the main event, the very reason why this ppv set it apart from all of the others. Longtime WWE fans know how WWE storylines work, they know the ins and outs of them and they will know how generic and bland they have largely become. That is precisely why this match had created such a buzz, CM Punk's worked shoot promo was able to breathe new life into a flagging promotion, instead of just being another monthly B level ppv which would serve only to maintain the status quo, suddenly there was a reason for excitement, something different. Punk's delivery of his promos in the weeks leading up to this were so believable, his words so absolutely true, likeAustin and Rock in the late 90's, Punk captured the feelings of the people of the time and pt those feelings into words. John Cena for years and years has been pushed as The Rock or Steve Austin of his generation but its never stuck, he has never been as poular as either of those, he has never been accepted like either of those despite the years of work WWE has put into him and along comes CM Punk, a man who earned his way into WWE through his stellar body of work in the indies, a man who was told he didn't have a clue how to wrestle after performing a try out in WWE and was told he would have to learn how to wrestle at WWE's development territory, a man who was called up to ECW because Paul Heyman was such a fan of his (Heyman's name backstage is mud, he is detested by the Mcmahon's, so too are the guys Heyman backed), a man buried time and time again by WWE and yet all it took was one promo compared to the hundreds of Cena's promo's designed to achieve the time of popularity and acceptance of The Rock and Austin, one promo from CM Punk and he emerged as the voice of his generation.

The match itself was perfect, in CM Punk's hometown of Chicago, with a crowd as hot as any I can remember at a WWE show, a crowd where the majority were hardcore fans who appreciated the good and resisted the bad and they could not have been more behind CM Punk. Cena's arrival prompted mass boos, Cena, the longtime face and all round good guy of WWE for the past 6 years, was heckled like hell by the live crowd (not for the first time). Their match built perfectly, starting slow with some chain wrestling and then moving smoothly through the gears, it was a lesson in storytelling and one greatly aided by the super hot crowd, the tension was palpable and as they built to the conclussion the false finishes could not have been more effective. The reaction of the Chicago crowd as Punk kicked out of 2 of Cena's Attitude Adjustments could best be described as euphoria. The relief of Punk reaching the ropes as Cena locked in the STF was palpable. The finish hit the mark, Cena with the STF locked in, Vince McMahon emerged with John Lauranaitis (potentially awful spelling) and went to order the ref to ring the bell, a rehash of the 1997 Bret Hart screwjob, Cena wasn't standing for it, punching John, he insisted to Vince that he could win the match on his own, by fair means, however the distraction allowed Punk sufficient time to recover, Cena returned to the ring and was immediately caught by the GTS and CM Punk covered Cena and earned the 3 count, Punk's expression and the crowd reaction said it all, seen as a messiah of sorts of the hardcore fans, he is to them what Cena is to women and children. In 1997 Steve Austin's career was launched and a new era began following Austin's I Quit match with Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 13, the image of a bleeding Austin refusing to quit to Bret's sharpshooter is iconic, last night CM Punk had his star making match, the image of Punk in front of a ravenous crowd, victorious has the potential to be just as iconic. Vince ordered Del Rio to cash in, he ran out, Punk kicked him in the head and left through the crowd with the title, surrounded by his people, with the WWE Title in his hand and Vince's perfectly pained expression, it was flawless and it proved that when it wants to, WWE can still produce enthralling storylines.

The beauty is that the conclussion of the ppv left so many questions up in the air. As JR said, when a ppv provides more questions than answers its a success and tonight was a big success. I haven't been interested in a WWE storyline as much as this in ages and for the first time in years Im eagerly anticipating tonight's Raw to see what happens next. Everything came together last night for WWE, in CM Punk they have a wrestler who has it all, the renowned in ring skills to deliver the big performances on the big stage, somebody with the effortless verbal skills to match any of the great talkers in wrestling history, somebody with that rare "IT" factory, a magnetic charisma that very few have, Ric Flair had it, Hulk Hogan had it, Steve Austin had it, The Rock had it and CM Punk has it. WWE has dropped the ball so many times over the years on potential money making storylines, hopefully they dont with this one because this has the potential to launch a new era, to be the biggest thing since the Attitude Era and for that, WWE can thank CM Punk, a man who will finally gain recognition as being the finest all rounder in the world right now.

Although Punks return was premature, I was really impressed. I'm not even a fan of him. But when Cult of Personality hit, I didn't know who it was and ibwas genuinely excited. I hope he will be a face. Damn, I think Punk is winning me over. It would make sense to make Cena heel because he's had the same gimmick for over 4 years!

Yeah they said that about Hulk Hogan, however a genius called Eric Bischoff encouraged him to turn heel and it was a huge success. Hogan is amazing. He can play the ultimate face and heel without trying. And yet, the fans love him no no matter if he's heel or face c

Hogan as a hell for me was easily in the top 3 heels of all time. He was just a cut above the rest of heels. and The Original Triple h if ya think of it. and my god he could cut promos like no other as a heel
