Hysteria 159
I didnt see a clearly dominion by Barcelona. For me, Real Madrid was too innocent, i mean, they missed two clearly opportunities that could had change the game, maybe if Ronaldo didnt miss the opportunity in the first half the morality of Real Madrid wouldnt have gone down. I see a big problem with Real tonight, when the things doesnt result at the first chance everything fucked up. They could have revert the score. Barcelona scored in almost every chance they got. The Big Drog 1,110
In theory it was perfect. Madrid's pressing unsettled Barcelona and stopped them getting a rhythm in their passing and as a result were the better side in the first half. With at times as many as 5 Madrid players pressing the Barcelona backline and keeper in their own half it was a brave move from Mourinho. A moment's loss of concentration allowed Barcelona in to equalise. What Mourinho's masterplan couldn't account for was a fluke, deflected goal to make it 2-1 or Ronaldo missing chances he would usually score in the dark, because Madrid did create chances. Once Barcelona scored the 2nd it was game over as the Madrid gameplan went bust and they lost their discipline. However had Ronaldo scored with the score at 1-0 or even had he scored the header (the decisive moment in the game) with the score at 1-2 we might have seen a different result. But even despite this loss Real Madrid can go 3 points clear with their game in hand, Barcelona don't play until the second week of January which gives Madrid time to build a healthy lead. Anyway a stunning game of football last night, a quite spectacular tactical battle between two new age managers, it was football as it should be played, technical, skilful and brave. Ollie 4,400
Barca just let Real burn themselves out and then the 2nd half was ridiculously one sided. Real Madrid don't impress me at all. Barca are Barca and Real are average.

Also one of the recent criticisms of Barcelona's recent run of form has been that their pressing game doesn't have the same intensity as it once had, there were a few problems for Madrid last night, their pressing game was not one of those. CHOULO19 24,332
I think Mou totally f*cked up yesterday. Ramos at center half? Lass instead of Khdeira? And Ronaldo on the left versus Alves and Puyol? Not that Ronaldo would have done any good yesterday even he was marked by a 5yo; totally rubish, Mourinho shouldn't have kept him more than 20mins on the field let alone keep him for 90.The substitutions made no sense to me as well. I mean, why take off Ozil real's best player in the first half and the only one in the team who could make a pass. Then taking off Di maria meant that real lost any hope of keeping the ball in the middle and of the two strikers getting any service. Diarra over Khedira proved to be the right decision, Lass was Madrid's best player on the night, pressed well, covered a lot of ground and made some jawdropping tackles, I like Khedira but for this game Lass was the right choice. Though I agree Ronaldo was poor, a shame because he has been in such good form this season. Someone as mentally tough as he is will bounce back from this. DYC. 7,542
Barca didn't play well last night, in Barca terms, yet they still beat Real comfortably, really says a lot.
Liquidator 5,176
Barcelona's 2nd goal was very lucky but they were still far better than Madrid. The pressing and putting pressure on the Barca back 4 worked but it was only going to work up to a certain point. Players will tire very quickly chasing down Barca players like that

The Big Drog 1,110
Wonderful Copa Del Rey game last night between Real Madrid and Malaga. I missed the first half but caught the second half, I can honestly say it was one of the best half's of football I've seen this season. Malaga took a 2-0 lead in the first half, Mourinho dramatically made 3 substitutions at half time, all of them paid off with Khedira and Benzema each grabbing a goal and Mesut Ozil putting in a virtuoso performance. The third goal in particular was vintage Madrid, football at its very best. Malaga played well for their part, got the 2 goal lead, defended well early on in the second half and always looked a threat on the counter, but there are few sides who could possibly keep Madrid out once they got going in the second half. After the dull, bland and unimaginative Man City vs Liverpool game, this one was a breath of fresh air. Sheva.

Tomo 21,751
Am i the only one who thinks Madrid have got Barca this season? They are 5 points clear and yeh i know Barca won at The Bernabeu but they haven't been as good as last year and Madrid seem so hungry to win this and we all know Mourinho has form for stopping teams that look unstoppable (IE Arsenals "invincibles").
