A ) I wouldn't say it is because of his suspension that he has to started to play badly. Neither because he has integrated a team which was playing poorly. We got to keep in mind that during this period, he picked up an injury to his toes. I think it was the straw that broke the camel back, ie his body has suffered from injuries too many times.

B ) Wrong. Our « Bad Moment ® » started well before the Sunderland game. Actually, it started against Aston Villa. We got a draw there in a poorly way, then we have won against the Wolf in the same way. Against BBurn we were very lucky to not lose. And then Liverpool made us look like fools. So, our bad form started before Wilkins got the sack, before the Sunderland game and before Essien got that red card.

C ) I don't believe Ramires was awful... He was more the scapegoat than anything else...

A) But thats only your own opinion. Is it so unlikely that he will play way better next season? I dont think it is. You got to give another chance for Essien.

Selling him or bring another player on his position would be an harsh move, another one for us. And to say Mikel could be a better option, for now

its just a wierd thing to say. What Mikel do so well?

B ) This bad moment didnt start as a Bad Moment ® . it started in one singel game, but playing poor for one game dosent mean getting into a Bad Moment.

It should stop after a couple of games, Chelsea couldnet stop this because of thoes reasons that pop out one after another- Lampard couldnt play at that time,

and than JT, Alex and Essien. If we had 2 of this players we could keep playing at least on a reasonable, normal form. (Oh, and dont forget sick Drogba)

One not so empresive game by the team doesnt mean much, the issue is what comes next.

C) You know what, thats a more reasonable thing to say. But the point is that Ramirez couldnt be effective in the team play, he was new at this team and new in this league.

Essien is degrading slowly. Age takes away physicality in sports and Essien's game is 90% physicality. Best we 'cash' in on him while there is still an interest.

While now, he still fairly fantastic, how many years will it be before he is completely useless? One? Two?

because Essien is best defensive midfielder in the world, end of this stupid discussion.

And that's the reality because you happen to think so. right?

if I assert that kalou is the best striker in the world would that also be a legitimate statement?.

Essien isn't even a DM, he's more of a box to box midfielder who's just versatile enough to also play as a DM. YayaToure, busquet, mascherano and alex song are all better than him in that role

Excellent post. We have ramires who's extremely similar to essien but younger.

the most disappointing aspect of Essiens game when he returned was his distribution . It was woeful ,,even the simplest passes when under no

pressure went astray. I do hope he recovers his form and stays with us . BUT if we have to use a midfielder in a trade rather him than Ramires

or Mikel based on fitness and age.
