My God... You know, nothing is blocked in a time wrap or some similar stuff. It ain't because he was the Bison yesterday that he will remain the best midfielder tomorrow. And do you even know why so many people are doubting in him ? Because he has just picked up his third knee injury. The third in three year. One injury of this type can easily put a term to a player's career, so let alone three of this injury. Futhermore, we have witnessed that he wasn't the same after his second knee injury, his overall level has well decreased. Thus, we can only figure out the worst for him. In my honest opinion, I do not think we will ever see him again playing for us... So, if we see him in a Chelsea shirt again, that would be a great achievement, to my eyes.

I disagree that we don't need him. What would happen if Mikel gets injured tomorrow? I really didn't like Raul playing at CDM.

You're right he is more like essien, but we all know that by the time essien returns and regains his form, he'd be injured again...

Hmmm, I suppose you are right. Though Mikel seems to be very fit as he rarely if ever gets injured. And it wouldn't hurt to have another Essien seeing as The Bison may as well retire, with his current injuries.

Though it is a shame that the team almost can't operate without a CDM.

He's a hardworking defensive/box2box midfielder who works for the team and any midfield trio needs a player like him. We could use a player like him perhaps, but we still have 2 big priorities in a creative midfielder and winger that won't come cheap. Once those are cleared then we can think about Khedira.

Merireles is unreliable in defence, besides he is much better getting foward.

Luiz has only ever player at CB or Fullback so how do we know he can handle a CDM position?

Wait till you see him play for at least 5 games after he's back, then judge if he's finished. Meireles isn't the best but he just offers pace, i think he's a good choice in there if we want to go out and attack a team constantly, Luiz has still yet to be tested, who knows what he could do there.

So in my opinion it doesn't just leave Mikel and Romeu.
