warnie_666 1,081
Mancs seem to be floored by our midfielder.http://www.redcafe.n...lampard-290310/Gerrard's last season was one of those rare seasons when he scored 20 goals and he received praise from every corner for being on fire that season.Frank Lampard has just completed his 6th consecutive 20 goals season and he aint finished yet. Still apart from few articles there isnt much going on in media. To think that he has not had one of his best seasons and still scored 21 and isnt finished yet shows the sheer efficiency of this player. Last season, according to him he had his best season and still didnt get mentioned in the PFA player of the year list. Its wierd how football works. Also, when you think of his off field escapades, there arent many to talk about. He hasnt beaten up a DJ at a bar, He hasnt missed a Drug Test, He hasnt shagged an old granny whore, AND certainly hasnt banged his fellow player's WAGS.He is a Machine that never stops playing, that never stops running, that never stops scoring 20 goals in a season, that never stops assisting, that never gets injured, that never rests. When you look around in Europe, there is Xavi and Iniesta who are technically much better players but when it comes to being efficient, there is no Midfielder in the History of this game who would even come close to Lampard. It is difficult to find a flaw in Lampard; he doesn’t goad supporters or lambast referees, whilst off the pitch he doesn’t crave the media limelight as so many others do. What prevented Capello from making him the Captain of England is something that only Capellow can divulge.Buy of the Decade and rightly judged Premier League Player of the Decade!!! NattyBlue 44
Well it's all true, couldn't care what their fans think though in all fairness. At least they can acknowledge his greatness
Kostas 1,468
IMHO Judging by his standards Lamps has been terrible this year. But even a terrible Lampard can produce 20 a season.

BlueLion. 21,491
Best midfielder in the club's history. Period.
Blueboy 14
He gets a lot of unfair criticisms. Namely that he scores loads of deflected goals (which is a fallacy) and that his total is inflated by penalties (as though they are gimmies). No it isn't. It might be a falsehood, but it certainly isn't a fallacy. Stupid mancs -.-. He only scored two deflected goals in the last two year someone said after the villa game . Overall they give him a lot of credit, and rightfully so. True legend! Edited March 29, 2010 by Blueboy
Laylabelle 9,535
Good to see him get the credit he deservesAnd dont give a monkies about deflected goals. Not his fault other people get in the way.Goals a goal.
boshman 1,073
Best midfielder in the club's history. Period. In my opinion he might even be the best player in the clubs history. Yes, above Zola, Osgood and the rest. To score 151 goals from midfield and get 20 + goals in each of his last 6 seasons is quite remarkable. It isn't just goals. I don't know how many assists this guy has but it must be there or thereabouts as some kind of club record. And what makes it for me is the amount of time he has socred important goals. Arsenal in the champions leagueTwo goals v Bolton to win the championshipThe goal against Everton the week before the second championship2 v Spurs in the cup quater finalV Liverpool in the Champions league SemiV United in the finalHis performance and goal against StokeWinning goal against Everton last year in the cup finalAnd i am not even thinking when i put them down. I'm sure if i thought about it i could find many more games when Frank has taken us by the scruff of the neck and won us the game.Lampard will go down as one of the biggest legends in Chelsea history. And in my opinion is the best player ever to pull on the famous royal blue! Edited March 29, 2010 by boshman

Jon 18
Like the boys said on CFFC, when I get old, it'll be nice to be able to say I saw Frank Lampard play. Legend.
boshman 1,073
zola was by far the best player in our history !By far? I'm not to sure about that. Yes he is by far more technically gifted than Lampard. Now giving what Lampard has acheived here, this is one of the reasons (along with all the ones i have already posted... and more) that i rate him higher than Zola. Not as technically gifted but still go's on to get more goals, assists etc. Edited March 29, 2010 by boshman
Badboy 1,526
By far? I'm not to sure about that. Yes he is by far more technically gifted than Lampard. Now giving what Lampard has acheived here, this is one of the reasons (along with all the ones i have already posted... and more) that i rate him higher than Zola. Not as technically gifted but still go's on to get more goals, assists etc. That is because he plays in a much much better Chelsea side. Lol if zola played for this Chelsea side he would of been the greatest footballer since johan cruyff. Zola was a complete magician with skill that blew people away its so easy to forget a player who played for a Chelsea side that never won any major cups. Lampard is a great great player but not even he would even think he could reach Chelsea's little magician !
BlueLion. 21,491
But that's like saying Pirlo is better for Milan than Frank Rijkaard, Ruud Gullit and Roberto Donadoni because he plays in a worse team, when in truth, he comes nowhere near any of them.Frank and Zola are different types of players. Comparing them is crazy, because both have done amazing feats for Chelsea. However, if you ask me, in twenty years time, I think people will speak of Lampard with more affection. Why? Because he's English. I merely think Chelsea supporters will always have the pride of saying that Lampard, in an age of cosmopolitan footballers like Messi and Ronaldo and Xavi, was Chelsea's greatest player of an era, and that he was as English as fish and chips or a Sunday roast dinner. Its something to be proud of. Pardon if this sounds racist, but that's what I think it will boil down to. I'm not inclined that way - I don't like particular players more because they are English, but we're an English club, and for an English midfielder to be arguably the greatest player in this club's long history is something to be very, very proud of. You talk of United's greatest players, and instantly you think of Cantona, Giggs, Best, Schmichael and Ronaldo. Any of them English? No. Of course they had great players like Sir Bobby Charlton and even now Wayne Rooney who are English, but my point is its different at Chelsea - our greatest ever players, Frank Lampard, Bobby Tambling, Ron Harris, Peter Osgood, Peter Bonetti, Clive Walker, Jimmy Greaves, John Terry, John Hollins, Kerry Dixon, Dennis Wise (I could go on forever) - are all English. Of course Zola falls into that bracket, but hopefully you get my drift.
EskWeston 696
Best midfielder in the club's history. Period.Summed up very nicely there, and Frank will go down in Chelsea history as one of the all time greats and that is more than deserved. As is usually the case the appreciation of Lampard will rise even higher once he is no longer playing for us....
kakuta44 16
he is not just the best midfielder in Chelsea's history ..... with his consistency , work rate , shipping in 20+ every season ( which no other CM can do ) and the stuff he does in the midfield that i have never seen from anyone except from frank ....... i can absolutely say he is not just a Chelsea legend ... he is not just an english legend .... he is a world legend ..!!!i am pretty sure that in 20 years he will be a role model for all players who wanna be great midfielders .... ZanSnake 1,211
Easily one of the best (if not best) centeral midfielders in the world. A brilliant attacker, could do better in defense but still a cracking player.
Luke 60
Lampard will go down in history as one of our best midfielders of all time IMO.He has carried Chelsea at times over the years, one game that will always stick in the memory is Bayern Munich at home in the CL, he was head and shoulders above anyone else in the world at that time.He deserves all the credit he gets.Even today, no goals, 1 or 2 scuffed shots, but he worked his socks off in midfield and stopped MUFC from playing, he is an all round complete midfielder.Super Frankie Lampard.
