KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
I cant even think that our next manager will stay long, unless we bring top players in aswell. And old guard should slowly depart. However, I thought, actualy everyone thought AVB will stay here for long time. He looked like Mou, had sucess and was young...Roman had trust and it seemed that even if this season AVB wouldnt get on top, he would stay. At least that was the impression of Roman to his new manager. Anyway he left after half season. I dont think we should go after new manager, maybe RDM should stay, but he must rebuild team and dont stand along Didi, etc, but sell him and few others and buy new ones.To be Fair if I was Roman I would have sacked AVB as well. If he was still here we would probably be nowhere near 4th, and out the Champions League. We were going nowhere as a club. He was just the right man at the wrong time, and of course his fatal mistake of not rebuilding as soon as he came in cost him his job. Henrique 9,133
I have to admit. RDM is looking really really good. Perhaps he is the man for next season. I dont know.
Kieran. 6,317
9-2-1 under Di Matteo, with 28 goals scored, or 2.15 goals a game. Compared to AVB's 66 goals in 40 games, or 1.65 goals per game. That's an increase of .5 goals a game, a considerable improvement.
StevenChap 8
While he may be our saviour now, I still think he should resign the post at the end of the season. Roberto is a Chelsea legend and to preserve that status him taking over as manager would just mean when he has a poor run of form, all he has ever done for the club will be forgotten and thrown out the window and he will be sent packing. ulsterchelsea 3,221
The only thing against him is that I don't think Roman sees him as a big enough name to entice big name players. I personally think he should be given a go if he brings home the FA cup and gets fourth. That's no easy feat and to do so would surely prove his worth. KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
How is it possible to score 0.5 goals?.5 goals a game would mean we are scoring an Extra goal every 2 games under RDM than AVB.
Jase 43,479
Think some people are too quick to jump into the RDM bandwagon. No doubt that yesterday was superb result but let's forget about the past few games too - Wigan, Fulham, Benfica - where we played poorly & just managed to scraped through with a little bit of luck from the referee. Won't be long before all the doubts creep in again IF we lose heavily to Barcelona & Arsenal this weekend.Having said that, at the moment, gotta give him credit for what he has done so far since replacing AVB. Contrary to reports after AVB's sacking, stating that RDM was even unpopular with the players, well that was certainly BS as he look to have a close relationship with the players. Important factor here is as he certainly made allies with all of them or most of them at least, which AVB failed to do so & created his own downfall. Adding to that, he has gave us back the belief, confidence, resilience and more importantly, restoring pride back to Chelsea after all of that seem have disappeared under AVB. KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
RDM has been a great Caretaker manager, but that's how it should remain. If we get 4th spot and or the FA Cup his Legacy will be greater with his rescue of our season. But he is not the man to take over permanently. Kieran. 6,317
How is it possible to score 0.5 goals? It's an average of the goals scored by games played. We score on average .5 more goals with RDM.

Trophies are won like that mate, you play shit and win game. Under AVB we played shit and didn't won nothing. He deserve chance to be manager next season. EskWeston 696
I think Roberto is doing a great job, and the results and the belief in the team show that. I don't think the performances have been great on the whole, but i think we are (and have been all season and last) hindered by an inbalanced squad. The fact that Roberto is having to play Kalou (who is a decent squad player but not ideally who you would have starting) and Ramires (out of position) on the wings shows that imbalance. Imagine if we had 2 top class wide players with this team, we would be playing some great football i am sure.We have no idea who Chelsea have lined up to take over, but i think Roberto has given a strong case.
