I'm probably one of our most cynical supporters but let's get some perspective. Ok, so it's four games without a win and looking a little too reminiscent of last season for comfort but having a look at those games:

We'd made wholesale changes against Blackburn in the Carling Cup and still fought our way to penalties with ten men, shit happens. The Apoel game came down to Mikel being sloppy but that aside, we were by far the better side on the night. Again today, we were the better side. Everton defended well and we fucked up on set-pieces but in all honesty, Everton had a large helping of luck. The only game we really didn't deserve anything out of was against Citeh and every side, no matter who it is, will have a bad day at the office and get punished for it.

Quite apart from all that, this time last year under Scolari we were utter shite, playing like a bunch of losers. We're not doing that this season. Ok, so Ancelotti really has needs to kick our defence up the arse and we need to address our long-standing problem with set-pieces (because that's not a new thing) but that aside, we just need a win to get us back on track.

Sorry, but being the better side doesn't mean anything if you don't win the game.

Can't expect them to always lose when we drop points though.

I didn't say we have to. But United will be kicking themselves for failing to take advantage of our slip up. Psychologically speaking, that's a bigger boost for us than for both teams to have actually won. United have been on our coat tails all season and have looked as formidable as we have. But we're three points clear.

Chelsea's next eight matches in the Premier League:

  • Portsmouth (h)
  • West Ham (a)
  • Birmingham (a)
  • Fulham (h)
  • Hull (a)
  • Sunderland (h)
  • Birmingham (h)
  • Burnley (a)
There's no reason we can't get eight successive wins from these fixtures. Birmingham away and Sunderland at home are potential banana skins, but if we're being realistic about winning the title then 24 points from 24 is the only acceptable possibility. We have to be beating this calibre of opponent.

If you look at those fixtures there should be a winning streak ahead!
