Popular Post! ja1 1,166 Posted October 11, 2012 Popular Post! Share Posted October 11, 2012 More Watford fans saying nice things about Chalobah:"Very assured on the ball with a good range of passing and is able to make room for himself. Much more suited to midfield at the moment IMO, but will make a good defender when he bulks up.""Has played brilliantly so far, you'd never know he was 17 and you'd never know the game vs Bristol City (I think it was, memory failing me) was his first ever senior game. He's very assured on the ball, confident and strong, can really drive forward and pass too. Reminds me quite a bit of Yaya Toure more than a centre back.""Chalobah has been excellent for us in the short time he has been here, the first time I watched him play was against Bristol City where he got man of the match in that game, he has been very confident and composed and he always wants the ball I would say he has been one of our most important players in the last few games and has helped us turn results around. In my opinion he has definitely been more impressive in the midfield than defence which has surprised me as I was expecting him to be more of a centre back. Before seeing him play I was unsure about the signing mainly because of his age although admittedly I didn't know much about him, but he plays like a player who has been playing senior football for a while.""Only seen him live once v Bristol City. Very impressive, great touch, vision, passing, I don't see him as a CB though. Apparently made a few poor passes Tues but he's young and inexperienced and locallish games are pressured environments so understandable. I imagine its doing him good and keeping him grounded to be playing and developing alongside the Udinese starlets Forestfairy, Batteredchops etc who are all equally impressive.""He'll be an England international sooner rather than later if he carries on his progression as I thought with Cleverley when he was here on loan. His quality of play is no surprise to me. Very versatile indeed and he can operate as a defensive box to box midfielder and as he matures drop into the defence.""I think he has been outstanding and when you take into account his age, he's been even better than that.He reminds me of Carlton Palmer but with much better skill and technique in every area!""He has as said previously give the ball away on a few occasions, but I have yet to see such an influencial young player in a Watford shirt since John Barnes came on the scene. Totally different players, but he oozes quality - for someone so young to have the confidence he has, it is no wonder he makes a few mistakes - but he is one of those players who you feel would make the entrance money to any game worthwhile, just to see him play.He came on late in the game at home to Brighton and his impact was instant, played well against Bristol City (not sure he was worthy of MOTM, but...), did failry well by all accounts up at Hudders' and was, in my eyes, excellent against Charlton - yes, he misplaced a few passes and got caught in possession once or twice, but one run in the first half which took him through the heart of their defence into a good goalscoring position (only to pass it off) was fantastic. You've got a star in the making there, no mistake. I just hope you'll leave him with us for the season and then get him in your first team next term.Hopefully he can remain injury free, the play time must be doing him the world of good.""He is playing to a level of at least 7 years more experience than his age.If he can maintain this, he will be part of the England Senior set up in his 20's" sleazyB, Miguelito, zolayes and 5 others

Nice to see Zola doing well too, the Watford fans seem impressed with the new style of play, with wingbacks, that he has them playing. EskWeston 696
Chalobah is an excellent footballer and the type of player where the loan system can work for him. For me is ideal to play in the midfield 2 ahead of the defence, he is a top footballer. Want to see him play as much football as possible on loan for the next 2 seasons and come back and challenge Mikel, Ramires and Romeu for a spot. Amblève. 4,995
Interview from Watford's HP! COLNEY CHAT: "Learning As I Go" Just 17, Nathaniel Chalobah is soaking up the many & varied experiences of the Championship...Colney Chat - exclusive to watfordfc.com, direct from the Hornets' UCL London Colney training ground...BEING a little taken aback by the size of Millwall skipper Danny Shittu on Tuesday night is the kind of stuff 17-year-old midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah is getting used to - and fast - as he continues to enjoy his loan spell with Gianfranco Zola's Hornets."I was a bit surprised in the first 10 minutes against Millwall when they were kicking it way over my head and I was like, 'Wow, the Championship is different every game'," he told watfordfc.com when looking back at Tuesday's stalemate and then ahead to the weekend's action."I was really scared when I saw Danny Shittu trying to get his team going!" joked the Chelsea academy product. "He's a very, very big lad."No questioning Millwall's physical presence provided a different type of test - and it's a challenge Chalobah feels the Hornets can expect at Leeds United come the weekend."I'm looking forward to it - definitely," he enthused."I'm learning as I go but I know that I musn't do that at the expense of results for the team, for Watford. That's what is most important here. Anything I get out of the games on a personal level is good for me, but we're all here to do a good job for the club."There are challenges in every game you play and I'm sure Saturday will be different. Leeds have got a manager who has been there and done it in this division, and like us they are a team that wants to win every single game and where the three points really matter all the time."It would seem that Chalobah and the footballing philosophy of Watford's Head Coach are ideally suited."We are sticking to the way the manager wants us to play and I'm really enjoying that. I've been surprised how many different styles there are in this division - and you get some quality individual players."We don't change the way we play. We try and improve every game, to do the same things but better of course. "We all believe in what he's telling us and, as a group of players, you can feel that belief that we can deliver it on the pitch."It's great for me to be around this team. It's a great club to be at and I'm enjoying doing my best every time I play."http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/121108-colney-chat-chalobah-474510.aspx Reddish-Blue and Beigl

ja1 1,166
Apparently Watford had 3 games in a week? So Zola was rotating, not dropping.
CHOULO19 24,332
Apparently Watford had 3 games in a week? So Zola was rotating, not dropping.Yeah he played for them midweek in a 0-0 draw but was rested for the weekend. From what I heard from a couple of Watford fans is that he is definite starter for them in normal conditions. That really says a lot, imo. For a 17yo to be starter in the championship especially in CM, he'd have to be something really special.
