killer1257 3,282
Should we buy every player at the age of 18 that playes OK for any team like Watford? Or are just our players that are really good at that age? This one failed until now and has no chance toi play for Chelsea (the same case for Kalas and others... you can't play for shit teams, you won't play for Chelsea and almost for sure you won't have an opportunity). This will happen for manyu players that are in the club right now. Almost every player, and many that today fans think they are increadible. They are not, maybe with exception of Boga. You know how hard it is to go to a different country to play as a centre back without knowing any german word?Communication between centre backs during a match is crucial and it is obvious that FC Köln will play 2 german speaking centre backs because they can understand each other during a match. CHOULO19 24,332
How can you make the jump from 'he's not blameless' (which is reasonable) to 'it's all down to him' (which is not)? You speak about working hard and taking the chances offered ... well, he did that already. It was then up to us to take cognizance of that and trust him to make the step up here, even if the integration took place in installments. This is Mourinho speaking at the beginning of last season - " He could be in our squad already. But we think one more season and it will be his last one out on loan." (http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/8836629/jose-mourinho-to-send-chelsea-teenager-nathaniel-chalobah-out-on-loan).He was ready. Chelsea knew it. But they failed to take the initiative, farmed him out one more time and surprise, surprise - the vagaries of the loan system struck. You can put it down to any number of things and speculate all you want about what's going on behind the scenes, but they all arise due to the basic reluctance on Chelsea's part to take him in when he was on the crest of a wave. Also, he did not choose Boro. Apparently, Mourinho 'told' him he was going there ."All down to him" was the wrong expression there, but what I meant is that it matters more what he does than what the club does. He's been going to clubs where he's not far from the quality of the XI, so it's up to him to make his football count."He was ready". Not really. I don't think he was nearly ready at the start of last season and that has been more than proven right in the past season and a half. If he were really ready at the time he would have taken the championship by storm or at least become a regular for Burnley. Very easy to throw the blame on the club rather than the lack determination and quality (yet) of the player himself.

Well Mourinho certainly thought he was ready, so what you or I feel is moot.Anyway this'll just keep going around in circles like the Mourinho thread so let's end it here. Jose said he was ready which is very different from thinking he was ready which in retrospective he obviously was not.

OneMoSalah 8,886
Hes a good player but I can't believe Jose thought he'd be ready after one season on loan last year.Hes not at Chelsea quality yet and he still needs another loan spell where he will play at least 60 or 70% of the games as opposed to sitting on the bench at a club that will get relegated then needs to have his situation re-evaluated again. I'd rather have seen him playing at a club like Watford again or Reading or Cardiff - someone who's challenging for promotion or even just a mid table club as opposed to trying to avoid relegation in the PL which usually prompts managers to go for more experienced players. The Skipper 20,609
Does anyone know exactly what's going to happen with Nat? I feel like (and hope) he should stay and train with the first team. He would make a brilliant Matic understudy.
The Skipper 20,609
"Ryan Mason was on loan at Swindon last year. Quite a similar player to Swift. Proves League 1 to PL jump can be done... if club want it."Also a valid point I found on Twitter. Reddish-Blue and nyikolajevics

Madmax 9,219
Bertrand didn't look too good in an abysmal Villa side either ... and that's a guy who's played a ridiculous number of professional career games. Look at him now. The Skipper and Reddish-Blue
