Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is confident thetransfer ban imposed on the club will not affect their Premier Leagueambitions in the short term.

World governing body Fifa recently found Chelsea guilty of inducing Gael Kakuta to break his contract with Lens.

"The transfer embargo is not a problem because we have a good team and very good players," said Ancelotti.

"The club are appealing and we have to wait for a good result for us. We hope that they overturn the decision."

Chelsea, who cannot sign any new players during the next two transfer windows, tied several key players to long-term contracts in the summer and thisis one of the main reasons the Italian remains optimistic, even if Fifawas to uphold the ban.

Captain John Terry and defender AshleyCole signed new deals just a few days before Fifa banned the PremierLeague outfit while Didier Drogba, John Mikel Obi and Florent Maloudahave also signed extensions at Stamford Bridge recently.

"We don't need other players," Ancelotti said.

"In the future, it may be a problem but we have to wait for Fifa to maybe reverse the decision.

"To have John Terry, Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and Didier Drogba with this club for the next years is very important."

Ancelotti'sspending over the summer was tame in comparison with other ChampionsLeague clubs, the £18m capture of Yuri Zhirkov from CSKA Moscow beingthe only major addition to his squad.

However, the Russiamidfielder has missed the start of the season through injury, and therehad been speculation that he might need surgery on his knee which wouldkeep him out for the rest of the season.

With Ancelotti unableto add to his squad in January, the long-term loss of Zhrikov wouldpose a major irritation but the Italian is not overly concerned.

"At the moment, we don't think he needs surgery," said Ancelotti.

"He's working with the team. Yesterday he worked with us.

"We have to control the situation. For the moment, he's not very well but he is improving.

"Next week we have to control his body. If he has improved, he can start to play matches again.

"He didn't play with the national team because he's not fit now, but he is improving. At the moment, he doesn't need surgery."

Acore of English players still form the backbone of the Chelsea sideincluding Lampard, Terry and Cole and, having seen his players helpEngland qualify for the 2010 World Cup with their 5-1 demolition ofCroatia on Wednesday, Ancelotti tipped them for success in South Africanext summer.

"Congratulations to the England team forqualifying and also to Fabio Capello who has done a very good job thistime and will do a good job again in the World Cup," he said.

"Iwatched England against Slovenia and also against Croatia. I think theEngland team has great players in the squad, a great organisation, andare one of the favourites to win the World Cup. I think they can winit."

Well I'm glad that Carlo believes that Chelsea are strong without signing players for two transfer windows. However, what I am questioning, is what kind of manager will we see in Carlo now. Can he keep away from injuries and a possible exodus of top players?

Fifa has told Chelsea that they cannot recall any players on season-long loans as part of their transfer ban.

The Blues were suspended from signing players for thenext two transfer windows by Fifa earlier this month after theybreached rules to sign Lens youngster Gael Kakuta.

Chelsea areappealing, but they had hoped they could minimise any damage byrecalling the likes of Michael Mancienne and Scott Sinclair, who are onloan at Wolves and Wigan respectively.

But Fifa has told themthat they definitely cannot have Sinclair back, while they will need torule on Mancienne as Chelsea have an emergency-recall clause insertedin his agreement.

Another loanee Franco Di Santo - who is at Blackburn - could return to Stamford Bridge as he only moved on a half-season deal.

"If it's a season-long loan, it cannot be terminated in order to bring players

back," said a Fifa spokesman.

Chelseaare yet to get Fifa's full ruling on their transfer ban but that shouldarrive before the end of the month, after which point they will have21-days to respond.

If you read between the lines , what Fifa and Ueafa are basically saying is

" F*ck you Chelsea , we will do everything we possibly can to stop you from winning anything this season , even not letting you recall players to your club who are under contract to you ! "

God I hate them so much.
