World Cup Golden Shoe winner Diego Forlan is not the only Atletico Madrid striker now being linked to Inter, as Sergio Aguero now comes into focus with the extra transfer funds soon to fill the Nerazzuri pocket.

With the reported departures of both Mario Balotelli and Maicon from Inter, the €35 million-rated Argentine international could boost the attack for the defence of Inter's Serie A title.

Tuttosport have revealed that leaks in Spain have suggested there is a proposal for the sale of the gifted son-in-law of Diego Maradona, and Aguero would fit the bill age wise in replacing Balotelli. The downside to the deal for Aguero and not Forlan is that Forlan already holds Spanish citizenship and Aguero does not. Inter may wait until citizenship is given to the 22-year-old before going ahead with the deal but the delay may attract other interested suitors such as Chelsea, who have been linked with the Colchoneros forward previously.

Aguero himself said a move to Chelsea would intrigue him. "Chelsea is of interest to me as they are one of the most powerful teams in European football," El Kun told the Daily Star.

If Aguero does make a switch to Inter, he may play against Atletico in the European Super Cup.

You either get him and show us reassurance or you dont and come right out and say it. These Chelsea pleas from Aguero and the clubs silent response is so fucking aggravating! We had over a year to get a deal together with Atheltico, everything should be wrapped up by now! I dont know why we are even discuting this...we never made an official offer to him, and he is not worth what Atletico ask for him. If not, we would have already signed him. We were going to pay 35m euros for Neymar, who is only 18, and never played in Europe. Why not pay for Aguero ?

I think the problem with Aguero is more to do with his wage demands than anything else, wages is where Chelsea are looking to seriously cut back.
