Do you think they will accept this initial bid?

Not expecting them to, especially when they claimed that the reported £48m bid wouldnt come close.

Having said that, I think they will hold out for £25m, and I hope we go for him (£30m should be the ceiling, IMO).

Considering discussions have gone on with Madrid for some time now, and coupled with the stories previously that Madrid are now prepared to let him leave this confirmation on an offer made is exciting news. I would expect us to maybe have to up the offer still to probably around £25m as is being reported in a lot of papers this morning.

But it looks like it is finally going to happen and we will get Robinho.

Looks like he will be playing at SW 6 soon. Not that an impressive record at Real - fell out withCapello and Schuster hasnt utilised him to his best.

Absolutely phenomenal with his Brazilian club teams, and I reckon Scolari will revitalise that. My doubts would only centre round the almost certainty that he'll be injured quite a few times....

Don't think he has had too many injury problems. Was quite important to Real last season, and when both available he was picked over Robben. He will be ideal for us, able to play wide left in an attacking sense and also as a second striker should we play 4-4-2.

Would be good to have him in place for the pompey game considering our striking options will be limited for that game.

Doubtless Madrid will come back and say they want more -the figure will probably settle @23-24 million., but this probably wont be concluded for a while yet I feel.

He was benched first four months of 2006-07 season. Scored 11 last season, but I've a feeling Scolari will get the best out of him.....

He has all the attributes we want to see in our wingers and Scolari clearly likes him and i agree that Scolari will get the best out of him.

I think this one may now get concluded by monday, Real seem prepared to sell. We sensibly offered less than we expect to pay as Madrid will always ask for more, we can then pay what we expected and Madrid feel they have a better deal out of it. The key is that we have done this publicly, Robinho now knows that we are serious and he will now push Madrid to get the deal done so he can move on.

Madrid will definitely want to blag more cash out of moneybags Chelsea. The best thing is that the longer Scolari is at Chelsea , the more he is a prize draw in terms of attracting Brazilians and Portugeezers.

Real rule out Robinho exit

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has ruled out any possibility of Robinho leaving the Spanish champions for Chelsea.

The Blues revealed on Thursday that they had made a bid - reported to be in the region of 20million - for the Brazil forward following a summer of speculation.

Robinho's agent has outlined his client's desire to move to Stamford Bridge, but Calderon is adamant the 24-year-old will be going nowhere.

"Definitely he (Robinho) is going to stay with us. The coach (Bernd Schuster) has said he wants him in our team," Calderon told Radio Five Live.

"We don't see any possibility of him leaving Real Madrid.

"We know Chelsea have been interested in signing him. He's one of the best players we have got in our team - we need him for the next season."
