Suppose the question on most peoples minds will be, if we don’t get CL this season, will there be teams snooping around this summer?

I know he signed a new deal last summer but how long do we get away without playing in the CL before Cole starts looking around and going WTAF?

Talk of some players considering this as it is so is there a chance one of these will be Cole?

Definitely. Maybe they'll give it another season if our summer window looks like it has potential and the team looks like it can improve and challenege next season but if not then off they go..

He simply lost interest and in the summer  Clownlake will  take 80 million from him and buy a some Brazilian especially after incoming another season in Liga de conference .

If Palmer goes, it will be for big money.

And in the eyes of Boehly & Eghbali, it will be seen as a massive success.

All that money will then be reinvested in a ton of youth projects, like you said.

  • Enzo Maresca on Palmer missing the penalty: “Cole didn't feel well during the night. People need to understand the effort he made to be there. He is a top player. Everything is normal now”.

  • Enzo Maresca: “Palmer didn’t train yesterday, then he woke up today and asked if he could be on the pitch to help this club play Champions League. It shows how this player wants to take this club back to where it belongs”.

Palmer had a scan on Monday to see how things were looking, and Simon Phillips has reported that while there were no problems on the scan, pain remains in the hamstring area, with another scan set for Wednesday.

He said on Substack: “SPTC sources can confirm that Palmer has now had the results of that scan and it has come back all clear. However, the pain in his hamstring is still there.

“Our sources have also learned that Palmer will be going for a new scan today [Wednesday] on his back to see if the cause is referred pain from his back causing his hamstrings to be tight.

  • Paul Scholes criticises Cole Palmer’s dip in form: “I’ve felt for a while that for Cole Palmer, it’s almost been too easy for him to play in that Chelsea team. He knows he’ll play every week and be the best player. I think he needs challenging more, and I don’t get the impression that they [Chelsea] are desperate to win anything.”

Just because he has been playing well in the past does not make him free from criticism now, he has completely fallen off a cliff and needs to put his big boy pants back on and sort his shit out, like certain others.

In a totally separate thread in an in game chat where I mentioned that I was not unhappy that Cole was getting angry on the field, which you were apparently annoyed at. You said something about how he should not do that unless he can "do it all for us"

I said he did it for a year and has the earned the right to get annoyed when things are going badly and ask for higher standards from those around him

No where there did I say we should not ever criticise his performance on the field and him not scoring but I guess you took a note that someone had a different opinion to you and just waited for some kind of vaguely related situation to bring it up to try to attack me over it lmao. Bit sad.

I just don't mind if he gets pissed off on the field. He should be pissed off when we're not winning, at himself as much as everybody else, which is how I read his reaction. I want to see him and more players getting pissed off when we're not winning.

Please don't pick and choose what I wrote. My actual post - If he can do it all, why hasn't he been for weeks?

The context of my posts in that thread was about his behaviour AND his poor performances, which you commented on. The past is the past for a reason.

Bit hard for him to play well when his first instruction is to pass it sideways and drop into CM to bail out the CM's. This goes double when he has prats like Sancho and Nkunku standing around wanting ball to feet so he doesn't have a runner to take anyone away when he has the ball in the final third. People give Noni and Jackson a lot of criterism but at least they know how to run off the ball to free up some space for him.

Palmer definitely better when Jacksons on the pitch - they link up really well. Its just the conversion rate, its not what it should be.

I think they'll both (hopefully) return together after the end of the international break.
