Its not a misunderstanding anyway. A misunderstanding does not continue for best part of 3mins, leading the manager to want to fuck off out of the stadium (lol) and then have to be restrained from getting to Kepa before pens. Its face saving from the club. I suspect many photos of Kepa and Sarri laughing and joking to surface soon, too

We're not this poisoned chalice people make us out to be either, we've had some excellent managers here who have been successful and gone on to achieve further success elsewhere or left without their reputation damaged. Even Sarri if he leaves at some stage this season, will still be highly regarded in Italy and get a top job back there. Simeone I cannot see leaving Atletico. However Zidane is available and I see no reason why he wouldn't have some interest in the role. Similarly there's rumours Allegri may leave Juventus in the summer so again, he may be interested to try his hand in a new league next year. this club is ruled by people without football competence there is the perspective of market's ban there is a dressroom that decide what matches are to play and what not ( 4-0 with bournemouth) no professionalism at all (today journals that talk about mutiny) it's a mess and a top manager at the peak of his career will never join here if things aren't fixed by abram imho Johnnyeye, Fernando and Unionjack

It wasn't a misunderstanding at all, it was Kepa saying "I'm not coming off" and the manager saying "You are" I thought I was watching a Punch and Judy show at one point. Are we seriously in a worse position then we were in Mourinho's final season where we scraped up to mid table eventually and didn't even qualify for Europe whatsoever? That summer we got Conte. I don't buy this idea that top managers wouldn't be interested in taking the job. I do however agree entirely about not having a 'football person' on the board. The current structure we have and the need to start maximising resources, academy talent, etc we are crying out for a top director of football to be given faith and trust to come in and run the football side of the club. Special Juan 28,140
Ruining your career is a leg snap or double break etc, not managerial appointment. It's the only job in the world where you get sacked and get paid millions. Sackings are part and parcel of football, it isn't big news when managers get sacked now. Managerial stuff now is just one big massive circle, they get sacked and get another job, easy. Laylabelle

In terms of career damage the media stigma about it all being the players fault when things go wrong make the Chelsea job arguably the most risk free big job in football. And gave the numbers to the 4th official to hold up. It showed a lack of authority (sarri) and professionalism (kepa) If a keeper goes down twice, in space of 5mins and needs physios to see to him both times, then is seen stretching it as if its still giving him trouble, you fully expect your manager to think right hes coming off. Especially close to pens, where your leg muscles actually assist in your diving range and leap. whether you have bad cramp or hammy, it'd affect it. I fully understood Sarri wanting to take him off and reasons why, Kepa blatantly refused to come off. No players went over to Sarri and said "look hes fine, leave him on" That was shocking too. Sarri has lost some players, clearly. Wednesday could be very interesting. Kepa probably starts, to continue the notion that all is well - but I'd say right, Caballero you're in. Make a statement, get some dignity back for Sarri. But then if Caballero starts, it shows that we are right, it was not a simple 'misunderstanding' I had little confidence anyway for Weds. Just hope we fucking win
Unionjack 7,531
I don't believe for a heartbeat Luiz saying he was confused about what was going on. Fuck me I was miles away and knew exactly what the crack was. And he was looking like he was trying to walk Kera off and talked to him with his hand over his mouth ffs. Luiz is just trying to do a cover up job to save any more shit to throw at the club. Just like Sarri SAYS it was a 'misunderstanding' on Kepas part. Ive said it before. Sarri is working with a squad of players not made for this style of football. They have been put together by a past lineup of our managers THEY bought to suit THEIR styles of football. HTF can the board- or us, expect a TOTALLY different style of football - in all ways, to be implemented by only buying 1 player to adapt to it - Jorginho. WHATEVER manager comes in - IF WE ARE SERIOUS about wanting to play an attacking type of football, is going to have EXACTLY the same problems as Sarri has. We need to replace more of the squad than the ones we should keep. Whether its because they are too old,to slow, wannabes, hasbeens, not the right character or personality or just outright not the standard of playerwe need them to be. Sarri does a few things that I just totally dont agree with or understand why he has done it/ But so has every other manager we have ever had. A lot of us forget that we knew this was going to be a rough roller coaster of a year/ We said it pre Sarri coming. The club needs a complete sort out from top to bottom whether it is with Sarri or not. But I would prefer we sorted out the Directors, get in a REAL DOF, get them to agree on a direction we want to see the club take, the type of football we want to be playing, an identity we want the club to have, and bring in the manager that is best suited for that particular job. Then get FULLY behind that manager giving him whatever support he needs kellzfresh, Antonio8 and kc_blue

Said it before but look back a short time. Every single player was a big part of their national team and a handful were captains. That takes training, character, strength, self motivation,TEAMWORK. Right now we have a few on the outside of their national team and a couple of lads doing great. Its that sort of quality we are missing. It doesn't take an armband to become a leader. But it does need the qualities to do it and those are what we need to start buildng into the lads or we buy it!

Hasn't even managed a club in any first league yet. Far more experienced, better and decorated managers have come in and struggled or outright failed with us. I laugh at the suggestions of JT even more, he hasn't even managed any team yet. Plus with our board's "backing", they are even more bound to fail. But I do dream of one day both coaching us, one as manager and the other assistant. Vesper, Johnnyeye, communicate and 3 others
