He has to.  As of right now, he is still the manager.  If he were to be negligent in his duties, there may be financial repercussions in regards to his compensation.  He has to go along as if he were the manager, it's still his job.

I find it hard (if not impossible) to believe that Conte is preparing for next season here. He will surely have long since known he's gone. The club wouldn't have just told him "mate, we've been looking to replace you for ages but it fell through, so you're staying."

Either the silence from the club means that he was always going to stay and all of the journalists were wrong or more likely, we are waiting for a specific date (July 1?) to trigger everything.

Conte has 100% known his future for a while. They wouldn't just spring it on him as preseason starts.

Agreed I think everything is as good as sewn up, it all comes down to dates, etc.

The financial year-end is June so perhaps the club want to defer the termination payment for Conte into next year, or Sarri's compensation. I even read somewhere that Napoli would terminate Sarri's contract in July once Ancelotti officially joins.

There seems to have been so many reports regarding things being triggered once July hits, I'm pretty sure things will fall into place over the coming days.

Indeed. It was the same thing as Chelsea asking Diego Costa to return and play in UCL...when It was obvious the club was just playing a legal strategy.

Conte is probably trying to not give the club an excuse to fire him without compesation.

O find It really hard to believe that the silence mean the club always wanted to keep Conte, because even the players are saying they want the situation solved. If the club always intended to keep Conte, Hazard wont be talking to the press pretending the doesn't know who will be charge next season.

Would be funny if this was the case all along and there were no legal battles or anything like portrayed in the media, just chill waiting game :D Perhaps the monday everybody keeps on talking about is really 2nd July, the first business day. We shall know soon enough.

Di Marzio on Sarri to Chelsea: "From 1st of July every moment can be the good one to close the story. Napoli will have to remove Sarri from office because there is Ancelotti and since then diplomacy will work to find an agreement between Napoli and Chelsea" #cfc

I am keeping sane as long as Croatia is in WC, doing well. I hope to God they do well, I couldn't handle them getting out lamely and this shit at Chelsea.

Croatia was largely overlooked before the beginning of the WC. Now they are feared by all other countries. It is my opinion that Croatia has the best midfield in this WC. I would not be surprised if Croatia reaches semi-final or final.
