The Next Manager?

Atm, the most likely option looks like Pellegrini which seems to me a surprisingly reasonable decision by the club.

Excuse me if I'm wrong, but is it correct to say that Mr 'Surprisingly Reasonable Decision' is 59 and the only thing he's won in Europe is the Intertoto Cup?

If we're going to go with someone 'surprisingly reasonable' then wouldn't it be better to go with someone who knows the Premier League already? Or by 'surprisingly reasonable' did you mean he's probably going to be cheap?

By reasonable I meant that he would be a low-risk option because firstly his wages would be relatively low. Secondly, his teams are always organized and his style of play seems achievable here. He's done well with teams he coached that often over-achieve when he's around. His time at Madrid was corrupted by the club's politics.

He's about 60, won only one trophy of note and his greatest achievement seems to be getting a 'smaller' team into the Champions League.

Does he conduct interviews from his Range Rover window and think every single player on Earth is t'riffic?

I don't get what exactly the point is behind this post. Is there a specific valid point you would like to raise in this argument? If so, then please explain it so we can discuss it properly.

What is the appeal of Pelligrini?

Exactly what I said above: He seems likely to want to come here atm unlike Moyes, Low, Klopp and the others. His wages are low relative to Hiddink, Mourinho ..etc. He is a good manager; most of his teams play well and over achieve. His teams are always very organized with close lines. He speaks English which will definitely help. And his style play is much more achievable than Klopp, Pep and even Jose.

If I could chose any manager in the world, would he be my choice? Of course not! But he is reasonable choice considering our lack of options atm.

mourinho's sacking from Real seems a mere formality now. once he becomes available, what are his options? PSG, Chelsea and maybe ManCity. there's a good chance he'll come here

I don't want to go again over why I think Jose won't come here but till now the only confirmed interest from the club has been in Klopp, who refused, and Pellegrini who according to his agent is interested in working in England.

"Let's say I had the ambition to be manager one day of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus, whatever," he said.

"Finally I arrive. I finish second, I go out of the Champions' League semi-final on penalties, I lose 2-1 in the national cup final.

"For 10 years I've done everything to get there and then after nine months, I'm out. Why live for that? I've been there as a player for top clubs. It can be much more pleasure to be somewhere where you don't have to win titles."

IT CAN BE MUCH MORE PLEASURE TO BE SOMEWHERE WHERE YOU DON'T HAVE TO WIN TITLES.....Michael Laudrup
Definitely can rule this guy out of the picture.

that's enough to prove both of them manage this club with heart...

This Season

Landrup Trophies = 1

Chelsea =0

Landrup will be coaching either at Real or Barca in the future. I would love to have him at Chelsea, however, I feel like hes going to stay at Swansea for at least another season.

Andrea Stramaccioni is under pressure at Inter Milan and whispers go around that he will be sacked if Inter continue to struggle and if they do I'd love for him to get the Chelsea job. This club is swiftly moving out older players, quicker than Inter has. Andrea is in a tough position because as much as he wants to usher in a new cycle of young players, he has many older veterans whom he has had to ultimately rely to get results Basically he has had to play the roles of AVB and RDM all in one nutshell at Inter to keep everyone happy. Which is a plus for me because AVB didn't balance things his first season at Chelsea. Andrea gets it but his squad just isn't very good.

I'd like a to see a team built here. AVB tried to implement a highline but with defenders like Terry, Ivanovic, Alex and a raw Luiz, it was never going to work.AVB was a dead man walking for 8 months

Di matteo implemented the opposite - sit deep and counter. but then again, no real understanding between the players and a lack of cohesive defending this season led to his sacking

Rafa well, he's been clueless all along

i want the new manager to build a team. a team with understanding between players. Moyes, Klopp, pellegrini or whoever it is will walk into a collection of good players. i hope they can get it working soon because we are running out of quality managers
