Rijkaard,Mourinho,Löw,Montella,Blanc,Hiddink,Klopp,Pellegrini or Laudrup would be the best for Chelsea.

My realistic top 5 targets (managers that we can actually get ) are :

1.Mourinho

2.Löw

3.Rijkaard

4.Hiddink

5.Pellegrini

I really hope it isn't Zola. As much as I'd hate to say it, the bloke is far too nice to manager a top club like Chelsea. There would be absolutely no discipline and control.

We need someone with a big ego that can manager the team and the players and put them in there place. Someone like Jose...But not Jose!

Bullshit about Zola. He was sacked when he was at West Ham, why do you think he will do the job for Chelsea?

He will be a RDM mk ii.

Rijkaard is hugely overrated - he's lived off the reputation of his time at Barca where he had the likes of Ronaldinho, Deco and Eto'o in their prime and has done nothing since.

Abramovich will take complete control over picking #CFC next boss after being swayed into hiring Rafa Benitez by Michael Emenalo (DailyStar)

Technical Director Emenalo pushed Abramovich into hiring Benitez even though the owner had misgivings #CFC (DailyStar)

If Roman made a really really sad facial expression, maybe he would persuade Hiddink not to finish his coaching career :D

Don't worry, I'm perfectly calm. They are rhetorical questions, I was merely pointing how vague and ambiguous most of your statements are.

good for you, genius :clown:

For my part, I would chose Simeone (great job at Atletico), Laudrup (excellent at Swansea) or Klopp (huge success with Dortmund).

But please no Mourinho... I do like him, I'm also a Real Madrid fan but he's not the coach we want here. Too much direct game, and he's only good on the short term.

Moreover, with the young talented players we have (Hazard, Mata, Oscar, .......) we have to develop an attractive game that can be used for long term.

We need a real project, something that last, and it is exactly what Simeone, Laudrup and Klopp are doing right now!

And I don't trust Low. He's excellent with Germany, but managing a national team is one thing, managing a club is another...

Even though, Chelsea do have young talented players on board but still the team is too thin.

Any manager looks at the team & thinks about how easy is to be fired there, as Pep has, he must skeptical to come to Chelsea.

Therefore, I am worried about the next step for the club.

Hiddink would be great but there is a next to 0 chance... The only great manager we have had recently who hasn't technically been fired as he came in on a temporary basis, done extremely well and went back to his international job.

He said Anzhi was his last club and last season, right. BUT he was saying for years he wouldn't return to managing a football club and look what happened. He is younger than Alex Ferguson, he enjoyed working at Chelsea, he is a very good friend of Roman's. I say let's just try it. If Roman really really tried, made a very sad face expression, maybe he would persuade him. You can't really think of better managers than Guus.

Don't matter really. Whoever it is will be gone the next time Roman gets out the wrong side of bed. Probably best that there is no previous Chelsea connection as it will hurt less. Would hate to see Franco treated the same way as Robbie.

In Roman's defence, he gave Robbie a job at a top club when he couldn't even get past an interview at a Championship team. Sure he sacked him, but that's happened to better managers than Robbie, and he knew the deal when he signed up.

I think you're overstating Roman's 'itchy trigger finger' like a lot of the tabloids do. The sackings of AVB, Scolari, Ancelotti and Robbie all came after poor results or performances. The one he probably regrets is sacking Jose, but their relationship just fell apart.

I thought the same as you when it came to Mourinho, but maybe he's reaching a point in his career where he wants to settle down and do something long-term. He's won almost all the top prizes, so what's the next challenge for someone like him? A project?

I would hope he's learnt something from this Madrid experience and that he might have changed. The same goes for Roman. Maybe now is the perfect time for them to come together and look to build something new.

Laudrup wouldn't be my first choice, but I think (if Swansea do well the rest of the year) I'd be fine with him. He's been managing for a decade and has a tremendous amount of experience as a player, playing at so many massive clubs. He's also probably one of the best players ever which automatically gives him credence with the players.

We don't exactly have a good track record with Laudrups. We hire him in August and by November we'll have Bjarne Goldbaek in charge.

But I'd be cool with him. He fits the system, he's done pretty well in his first season and he might benefit from the dressing room being the power centre of the club that it once was. My only reservation is that he's not really stayed anywhere long-term, but his career has been on a steady upward curve since he started and he has a good pedigree.

I agree with the majority of that, but where does that leave the Fat Controller. He has had a similar number of games in charge that Robbie had, and it really would be hard to pin point any improvement, and there is certainly an argument that the defeats under TFC have been chronic, compared to earlier in the season. QPR and West Ham just isn't funny.

Therefore, TFC has had a similar number of games, with absolutely no improvement, which begs the question, why is he still here?

Because Roman made a new year's resolution to keep his sackings to one per season? I don't know. Part of me thinks he deserves to be stuck with him (and the shit that goes along with it) for a few more months to learn a lesson.

On the plus side, he's hardly doing anything to make sure he stays on beyond the summer.

Yep, fair point. Maybe they deserve each other. Shame it leaves the fans out on a limb somewhat, but, hey ho
