Blue Colored Sky 1,807
The board indeed never backed Jose with transfers and also chopped him with the first possible chance they had. I think they like Pellegrini's type of football more, plays attacking football, calm in the press, a gentlemen image. I think he's more Roman and Emenalo's cup of tea. Maybe the board and Roman will back him more?Simeone is basically just like a mentally fit Jose - he plays pragmatic, counter attack and fighting football with tough players, no tici taca football. Yesterday Atletico hardly took initiative in the game vs Malaga, and this happens often - they even play pragmatic against mid and low table teams when needed, like Jose. The only main difference is his image in the press, he is less arrogant. I am not sure the current players fits his style of play. 1) Rotates more.2) Gives youth a chance.3) Is more proactive in big games. His defending is much more intense.Plus he has a right to play underdog card being in Atletico - who knows how would that be in Chelsea ? Ossie the King 634
So Mourinho thought that "the team is not in a great state"? But who allowed it to go there? The team he left behind is a title winning side that broke records, hardly a bad team. But it needed to be freshen up and it lacked depth, it's a natural process. If you don't strengthen, you will go backwards. Essien19 and Ossie the King

The next manager will have his own ideas and preferences, so some players he will not fit into what he wants. My feeling is Hiddink is here to bridge the gap between Mou and the next manager. He is starting the rebuilding process, and moving away from this team that Mou built. It is not about the quality of the team. Mata was a great Chelsea player, but Mou had no use for him. Same situation will happen with the next manager. stroey

The Chels 2,502
So in Simeone's interview (which has led to headlines like 'Simeone distances himself from Atlético Madrid exit'), he says: 'Why can’t I be here longer? Why did I choose a five-year contract?'However it's important to note that the interview was done before Mourinho's sacking, and all he has said since then is 'no comment out of respect for everyone.' Hope dies last! xPetrCechx
