Rmpr 8,977
Assuming we keep all these ------------Courtois-----------Cesar----?????---Zouma----Baba--------Matic---??????------Willian-----Oscar--------Hazard-----------Costa--------------That's a line up to fit Simeone before we get players in. Pedro could easily replace one of them 3 AMs also.He will also probably keep Terry, Cahill, Ramires, Begovic and maybe even Mikel and Amelia as squad players aswell as likely give Kennedy, RLC and maybe another couple of young players a squad place.Ivanovic, Cesc, Remy and Falcao will likely be the casulties if Diego comesin. Only Remy because at 29 the club might want to get a decent fee while they still can.So that already accounts for 18-19 squad places, he will probably want 4-5 quality additions to improve the first Xl and squad depth but all things considered, that isn't an unreasonable demand.1. Neither Cesar or Baba fit the type of full backs Simeone usually plays with.2. You want to go into a new season with Oscar, William and Hazard as our AMs again? Havent they show enough flaws as a unity already? Simeone would NEVER build a midfield with so little physicality, speed and quick passing. It will just not happen, EVER.3. I dont believe Costa can regain form. Referees hate him, he seems completely uninterested and I dont even know if Simeone would want to work with him again. He is the kinda of manager who utilises a player but isnt afraid to move on to younger prospects. So, with the 2 positions you already pointed out plus a new AM and a ST that would be 4 markee 30m+ signings. Which, honestly, is quite a lot. And then, by this point, even Jose would succeed with 4 bew starting players...

I would.Baba has a lot to prove now and hopefully he gets an extended run.Matic has been struggling for a long time, and the same goes for both Oscar and Costa.Courtois, Azpi (at RB), Zouma, Willian and Hazard are great pieces to build around. That line up was basically a nucleas of players that could work under Simeone.Jury is still out on Matic and Costa for me, I remember Drogba struggling all through 2008 then recovered under Hiddink, here's hoping these two can benefit from the Dutchman aswell. Tomorrow will be a great game: Arsenal - City.He also loves attacking football, all his teams he managed were great in attack. Silva, Aguero, KDB, Sterling etc are all shining under him and all players can express themselves attacking wise, quite the opposite of Mou. Think the likes of Baba, Oscar, Hazard, Willian and Cesc will love to play for him. This season he even will have a chance in the CL, the second round is against CSKA, with some luck they can go far. Great in attack but rubbish in defense, imagine if Jose, Simeone or even Rafa had Kompany, Mangala, Otamendi, Demichelles as CB options, Zabaleta as full back with Fernandinho protecting them, our defensive record of 2005 would be under serious threat.I want a decent balance of the both, which is what old Jose gave us and what Simeone will, Pellegrini, Emery type teams are too defensively weak for me. Henrique 9,133
Dave OConnell @DaveOCKOP Pep Guardiola's brother has confirmed he is taking the Man City job. (BeIN Sports)Guardiola is a coward. He is afraid of the whole situation: rebuild a team that Mourinho left destroyed. He will choose, again, a pretty easy job and will manage a super stellar squad.
