Yeah having fun, when u won the euros did cucu go around signing about black french players? No, no he didn't, what your failing to understand is the amount of black players particularly black french players we have in our squad, considering football has had a massive campaign going onto kick racism out of football this is going to go down like a shit butty

That song is popular there in Argentina, he was naive if anything. I remember once I posted that anti semitic image as an reaction image to a result in a basket forum without knowing what it means and I got warned. Doesn't mean I hate jews just didn't know the meaning of it.

Nonsense last few replies, he was just having fun celebrating, doesn't mean he was a racist, calm the fuck down.

You obviously don’t know what the full chant was or are oblivious to common sense as what it infers is heavily racist. As well as homophobic slurs also.

Club need to investigate this and look into it. I do not know what to expect but Boehly-Clearlake group have run folk out of other departments in the club on the non playing side for things such as bullying in the workplace. Can’t see their stance softening, particularly given the fact some of his team mates are French, makes it even worse. This he didn’t know what it meant attitude will not fly with this, not in this day and age.

French Football Federation have also threatened and intend on submitting a legal case against the Argentinian Football Federation. So nonsense nothing.

He'll be alright if the club want to keep him. Lamps, Terry, Morris baring their arses at US tourists after 9/11 seemed cardinal sins - but if youre good, get away with anything

Different times now though. Modern day culture has changed significantly with regards to racism, sexism, homophobia and other subjects.

I’d imagine the club will be assessing it on all sides as for us, it is a potential PR crisis plus the potential for major issues inside the dressing room between Enzo and the other players and coaching staff.

Either way - the evidence is pretty damning. The video is for all to see and they get him to cut the video right at the bit which is where they would begin the racial and homophobic slurs.

Shouldn't you do research before using random images, then?

I just thought it's a funny reaction to a result didn't know that it had some meaning behind it.

Let's not forget that we have a sizeable group of French players who are black as well. This runs deeper than some on this board seem to realise.

I hate to break it to you, but that's the problem right there. Enzo clearly seems to be having a fun time singing a "harmless 😐" song with his teammates.

Any individual has to accept the consequences of their actions and take accountability.

I know you think it's harmless, but this could honestly result in Enzo gone.

Precisely thus also.

Can’t just write this off as youthful naivety - regardless of how good someone is or isn’t. Or if there an asset or whatever.

Boehly-Clearlake talked a lot about culture when they took over and their intentions to reduce toxicity and bullying in the workplace after multiple allegations over the years from various employees.

Turning a blind eye to something like this, which is a much bigger issue, would be extremely contradictory and send the wrong message to everyone associated with the club.

@NikkiCFC also agree - it will be more than just us affected. Obviously its the Argentinians Federation and mens team issue first and foremost. But with the response from Wes Fofana to the video, his club team mate uploaded…. Not ideal. And there will be various Argentines with French team mates at club level across Europe who will have no doubt felt the same/had similar reactions.

Is this going to be a issue only in Chelsea? Looks like full squad singing that song. Liverpool, Inter and Atletico also have players in both national teams. Will Thuram be angry with Lautaro? Konate with AMA? Griezmann is white tho and already had racist history so no issues in Atletico.

They aren't gonna let an 100m asset go with a massive loss, especially one of our best players. If they paint Enzo as an racist for singing a song, they should also paint Messi and the rest as well since they were all obviously doing the same thing even if they don't appear on video.

Clubs & organisations within this country try to take a tough stance against all types of discrimination. Have you actually watched an Italian or Spanish top-flight game recently?

How others act is totally irrelevant anyway. As the saying goes, "get your house in order." If Boehly & Co. are people of their word, Enzo will either have to face serious punishment or be sold during this window. I'm still lost for words with such responses, which are trying to downplay what's happened. We're in 2024, not 1904.

I don’t know which is dumber, the team singing the racist, super offensive song or Enzo filming it, putting it live on IG, and not thinking about the reaction it would get. How can you be that fucking stupid?!

I honestly don’t know what he can do other than getting up in front of the whole squad and profusely apologize and ask that they please allow him to earn their support back.

Any talk of selling him is complete madness.

If all our black players decide he's not welcome where does that leave us and him? It's ok saying we can't sell him, but he won't be left to rot either, Jackson, sterling, ugo, disaster, lavia, caicedo, Reece, Trev, bads, noni, fofana, nkunku, kellyman, viega, gusto, Sanchez, colwil, cole Palmer (Jamaican heritage) just to name a few, he's offended all of them especially the French lads, then there is the prospect of where does that leave us for future signings, hopefully it can be sorted internally, but judging by the players unfollowing him it may not be that easy

Each has their own opinion and stance on it. Whether it's naive or what etc it's unfair to single out Enzo with the entire bus singing it, the club have taken the right steps. Social media unfollowing etc is just the age we live in, a statement piece, the players should reach out to Enzo directly rather than put something on social media, much the same as Enzo was at fault for doing that. Now I do not, in any shape or form, condone racism, of any colour or discrimination of any kind, I'll be clear on that, I don't know how popular the song is in Argentina, even if that's a thing, I also am not well versed in the history of Angola/France I actually thought it was Portuguese there.

I would expect a public and private apology, some fines and integration then some refollowings.

But what if the French players in the squad as well as the multiple other nationalities don’t accept an apology?

Or if the ownership group deem that as an incredibly harmful act to moral at the club? And the image of the club?

When they took over one of the things they wanted to promote was ensuring a good work culture and remove things such as bullying and toxicity in the work place as it had been heavily hinted at in the previous regime. Racism and homophobia is pretty severe compared to those two.

Fofana, Gusto & Disasi have already removed him from their social media pages. We have Ugochuwku, Sarr, Badiashile & Nkunku also who also are French and no doubt will be disgusted if they’ve seen that video. We have got players who are African such as Datro Fofana and Nicolas Jackson who may be offended as the chant mentions certain African countries and transexuals.

I think people that are expecting this to be swept under the rug and his place at the club is a sure thing because its Enzo Fernandez and he cost whatever or is one of our best players are being particularly narrow minded and short sighted.

Yes he isn’t alone but he is unfortunately the face of it as he is streaming the video, he is the most clear person in the stream singing it.

There will be a lot of those Argentinian players and maybe even staff members receiving bans from international football if FIFA and the AFA aren’t complete wanks and do a proper investigation into it.

A sincere apology and a suspension from the club should be enough. You can’t kill someone’s career for a (very, very stupid) celebration. He’s now got to live with fans booing him in every stadium, his teammates never trusting him fully again, and everyone thinking he’s a massive racist for the rest of his career. All of that plus whatever discipline from the club and put a line under it.

Selling someone who we just payed over £100m for and who was set to be a key player is surely impossible for the club.

Time will tell mate, it could get brushed under the carpet (don't think it will) but don't be fooled into thinking that he isn't going no where because he cost 100m and is a future star. The club is bigger than any player and ultimately have the power to move him on and move him on for a loss if it feels it's necessary
