In last 10 league games he started 2 times..

That doesnโ€™t mean heโ€™s poor it means they have their own players that belong to them that would rather develop. He literally came in to the side at the weekend and had a goal and an assist hard a poor player.

I haven't been keeping up with him, so if you're watching him when he plays then fair enough. However, just reading stats like this is pointless. As another poster mentions, he is a loan player so he may not be getting starts due to the being a loan player. Santos had exactly the same problem at Notts Forest.ย

Of course, he may not be good enough, but we need to look beyond his starts and have a bit of a break down of his game before that can be judged/inferred properly.ย

Not being given game time is not an indication of a poor player. If they play every week and suck then yeh , otherwise itโ€™s just a lack of opportunity. Clubs will take advantage of us to get cheap depth.

santos probably has as many starts for Brazil first XI than Nottingham Forestย

But also we have to look at why Santos and Casadei arenโ€™t starting there.

There is obviously a reason beyond clubs using us to get โ€œcheap depthโ€, its never as black and white as that, performance and level obviously has to be a factor at some point. And also a reason as to why theh were loaned in the first place.

He is a good prospect but was the same with Santos last year - we have to temper expectations. Even look at Colwill for Brighton strolling it last season as a left sided CB in a back 3 and 4 as well as at LB some weeks compared to here, he has looked suspect.ย

Also we have too many young MFers in the squad as it is so inevitably some wonโ€™t make it here.ย

You can try to bend reality as much as you want, just watch him play and/or read Leicester fans opinion on him. One good game doesn't change the fact that so far he is nothing special for them

Heโ€™s had more than one good game for them but my expectations of him are tempered he is only 20 after all and itโ€™s first professional menโ€™s football season - however there is a player there whether you want to believe it or not.

I don't care what anyone says.. this lad is going to have a fantastic career. Something special about him. We must keep him with us, for me, he has to be considered for the main squad next season. We will regret it if we don't start using him. He has KDB vibes.

Recalled, Gallagher not seen in training so perhaps long injury?

A surprising decision if he's been called back for another reason. I'd imagine him or Santos will remain with the squad till the summer.

Edit: It looks like he's going to be part of the squad after all. Mixed feelings.

They really may be selling Conor in January - recalling him before the year is up when Leicester have injuries and players away at AFCON. Although I did see they are trying to bring in Sensi for their midfield. So maybe we saw his minutes were going to go down so decided to bring him back and loan him elsewhere. Also it seems Ugo injury is worse than they thought hence why we havenโ€™t heard anything on a loan for Santos since his recall they both could end up staying with the squad.

Galladog getting sold for peanuts and Cesare gonna ball , you love to see itย

Mate, I'm gassed. Seriously, soo happy to see this decision being made. Casadei was balling in pre-season and he looks even better having played at Leicester.

He looks quite technical and aggressive so he could definitely be usefulย

Video is impressive, but we have so many midfielders who played wonderful for other teams.. There are great Moises Caicedo highlights around..ย

ย

Hope he can do this for Chelsea aswell.

Marescaโ€™s comments about Casadei show heโ€™s ready to reinvent midfielder

https://Chelsea.news/2024/10/marescas-comments-about-casadei-show-hes-ready-to-reinvent-midfielder/

Cesare-Casadei-plays-in-the-Carabao-Cup.

Enzo Maresca spoke to the TNT Sports cameras ahead of kickoff in tonightโ€™s game against Gent, and his comments about Cesare Casadei were very interesting.

It was quite subtle, but when asked what the Italian brings to his midfield, Enzo revealed quite a lot about his thinking. It seems that the youngster, more known for his attacking ability, is now considered a number 6 option in this B team, which otherwise lacks midfielders happy to sitย deeper.

โ€œHis physicality is strongโ€ฆ he can help us off the ball, in the way we press,โ€ Maresca explained.

โ€œOn the ball he is improving a lot. Heโ€™s doing well with us.โ€

What Marescaโ€™s tell us about his new favourite

We can infer quite a lot from that. Firstly that the real reason Casadei was brought in against Barrow and again today is because of his capabilities off the ball, or defensively more generally. Heโ€™s tall and strong, which is important in this B team which is otherwise composed of quite a lot of small, tricky attacking players.

Secondly, of course, that Casadeiโ€™s play on the ball isnโ€™t up to standards โ€“ not yet anyway. That much has been obvious since he signed, but given his eye for goal most people saw him being used further forwards as a sort of support striker, rather than deeper as a destroyer.

Maresca seems to really think heโ€™s got something to work with in Casadei, whose opportunities have gone from 0 to B team regular in the space of just 3 games. Their time together at Leicester in the first half of last season seems to have given the former Inter academy player a headstart on some of his colleagues, and given Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo want to stay fresh for league games, using Casadei as a deep midfielder seems a clever solution from Maresca.

โ€œIt was my decisionโ€ โ€“ Forgotten โ‚ฌ20m man details why he stayed at Chelsea this summer

https://Chelsea.news/2024/10/cesare-casadei-opens-up-on-decision-to-stay-at-Chelsea/

Chelsea-in-preseason-before-their-game-a

Cesare Casadei has revealed that it was his decision to stay at Chelsea this summer and said he couldnโ€™t be more proud to play for the club.

Casadei has very much been a bit part player since he joined the Blues from Inter Milan in 2022 and heโ€™s subsequently had loan spells at both Reading and Leicester, where he worked under now manager Enzo Maresca.

The Italian is going to struggle to get minutes in the Premier League and the cup competitions represent his best chance of match action.

Casadei wanted to stay at Chelsea this summer

Casadei got his first action of the season as he started in the 5-0 win against Barrow in the Carabao Cup and he could feature in the Europa Conference League against Gent on Thursday night.

Some might be surprised that the 21-year-old is still at the club as he was expected to be one of the players that would move on, but he revealed in the pre-match press conference ahead of the Gent game that it was decision to remain at the club this summer.

โ€œIt was my decision [to stay and not go out on loan],โ€ he told reporters as cited onย X.com.

โ€œThe last season was not easy for me. I was thinking what was the best solution for me. But the moment I spoke to the manager, I was 100% sure the decision to stay would be best for me.

โ€œI never had the idea to [leave] permanently. I spoke with the manager, he told me what he thinks, I had no doubt.
ย
โ€œI always wanted to play forย Chelsea, one of the biggest teams in the world. I could not be more proud to play for Chelsea.โ€
