The transfer rumor mill is going a bit nuts, I think...

yeh tha sounded like BS minute i read it.

West Ham's offer is 18 month loan with obligation to buy at £33m if he plays a % of games

So according to SSN, we then thought, let's offer an 18 month loan also, with an obligation to buy.  But I tell you what, let's add £22m (!!!) to the total and just increase the % needed to trigger.

Yeh, I call bullshit.  If the club knew Fernandes was in talks with West Ham and wanted him, you'd contact his agent and find out West Ham's offer and if Benfica were happy with it; and just match it.  You certainly wouldn't add 22m to it

Complete rubbish.

You probably wont hear anything else on it now, until he joins West Ham.  (apart from SSN tweeting about it over and over and over tomorrow)

The journos saying "im being told its untrue" etc are not being told anything, they've just used their head and worked it out for themselves.   Chelsea do not comment on speculation remember, and apart from the club and Benfica, no one else knows the truth.

Not sure about us and him, but he is is deffo for sale. He has fallen down the pecking order there, which is quite surprising as a year ago he looked on track for massive things, along with their young DMF, Florentino.

Just watched some Gedson Fernandes. Know who he reminds me of? Like a quicker Paul Pogba.

Must say that I'm surprised that we're being linked with CM's this month. That's both him and Soumare now.

Soumare is more of a DMF hybrid type. Gedson is a straight up CMF. Florentino,  Gedson's teammate, Florentino, is like Soumare but probably even better (and will cost a shit tonne more.)

I still would go for Camavinga, do not care if we have to drop £50m, £60m or so on him, especially as if we miss out in the summer on both Sancho and Chilwell there are really no truly big spends linked with us other than the never-ending Zaha rumours. Werner has that very low release clause, so win or lose with him in the summer, the only real big cost associated will be his salary.

Camavinga will so likely be a WC monster and can play anywhere in MF and even a spell on the wing or at wingback.

Camavinga is a ridiculous talent and you know what happens with those kind of talents... they go to Madrid or Barca. That's football. Unless your names Felix and they you make a stupid decision and join Atleti.

It could be right.

We don't know how much % of games that he has to play at West Ham for the buy obligation to be triggered, it could be as low as 15-20%.

Maybe were prepared to (potentially) give the extra £20m for a bit more leeway in game time which will give us a bit more time to work out whether he will actually be worth it or not. We will be able to theoretically play him every game from now until about October without triggering the clause.

That said I'm not really keen on any CM signing right now unless they're Iniesta/Modric level quality or have the potential to be, we have a lot more pressing needs in the side.

Gedson Fernandes, Wilfried Zaha and Issa Diop.

Not completely sold on any of them but out of the three, although Diop has huge potential.

Fernandes has fallen off the radar a bit after a promising start at Benfica when he broke into the team, he reminds me of Renato Sanches in terms of how his career has gone.

He started well at Benfica and now has fallen out of favour due to a bust up of sorts with their manager.

Zaha is a good player but not sure if he is top 4 material, his end product still leaves little to be desired although in 1 on 1s he is good at taking players out of the game.

Diop, huge potential but again a young player, I think if Christensen is to be going to AC Milan or somewhere else as reported, then having a more established player replace him would be more sufficient unless Zouma is going to be a long term part of Franks plans here.

I would severely disagree regarding Felix.

Felix is really struggling at Atletico, probably due to the step up in competitive level but at least he is playing regularly because Simeone has clearly got patience and trusts him (also he is their marquee signing at 130m euros).

If he had went to Barca or Madrid or Juve, he would be sitting on the bench not playing so hes hardly made a stupid decision. Its not purely down to Atletico's set up either which people are just assuming. If you watch Atletico games you will see Felix isnt at the same level as last season despite showing glimpses of his obvious talent at times. DS has said about him needing time. Just like de Ligt now at Juventus, where he hasnt featured as frequently in the last month and when he has played, has played poorly compared to the previous season at Ajax. They both just need time to adjust to a higher level of football, again, both are also in different countries and at much bigger clubs too where the demands are much different.

Felix will definitely get better once he is fully settled and will definitely be able to get a bigger move again if he can do what he did at Benfica for Atletico. I mean Griezmann eventually got his despite many thinking he would be too expensive for Barca to buy from Atletico or that he had been there too long.

Another day, another played linked...

Oh god, absolutely no way, he's been absolutely shocking at Leti.

Also I know it's not all about goals as a winger but 4 goals in 64 games (his record in Spain) is shocking

Chelsea have made West Ham defender Issa Diop their primary target and will bid £40m for the 22-year-old Frenchman. (Express

Chelsea have bid £17m for Metz and Senegal attacker Habib Diallo, 24. (Republicain Lorraine

hmmm, so now the bid is £40m (exactly what Ake would cost)

all reports before said £50m

West Ham paid £22.5m for him

wonder if we end up splitting the difference and paying £45m, which exactly double West Hamäs money spent for his fee

also

today is the birthday for both Diop and Gedson Fernandes, the two newest hot links to us

I fully believe this fernandes rumour is planted news. Maybe they aren't playing ball over Diop and it's classic marina saying we will steal your top target if you don't play ball...

if that is true and if it is indeed Marina's idea

then my estimation of her goes up a bit

that is deffo something I would do, lololololol

I fear you may be right, they are looking for a long term backup and then replacement for the only actual DMF they have on their entire roster (Casemiro, not a bad 'solo' one to have!!!, lolol)

I would think the others in the mix are (I rate the hell out of all players in this post) Florentino from Benfica, Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester (deffo the best holding MFer in the EPL, along with Fabinho, now that we no longer play Kante there), Sandro Tonali, plus maybe Denis Zakaria from Borussia Mönchengladbach

Not sure if they rate Boubakary Soumaré from Lille, or Bruno Guimarães, both of whom are now linked to us, and I am fairly sure they will not make a move for Declan Rice or Sander Berge.

I have listed every young DMF now that I truly rate, as Neves is not really my cuppa (I do admit he is damn good player though, just not one who I see screams CHELSEA!). Thomas Partey (26yo, 27 on June 13th) is the only other DMF I rate who is remotely available, and he has a low £42m release clause with Atleti. In fact, the only other DMF's in the world I truly rate not listed so far are Rodri from Shitty and Marcelo Brozovic, from Inter.
