According to the new rule: Players aged 22 and older are affected by the new rules, which only allow eight loans in and out as of the 2020/21 season – from the 2022/23 onwards, the limit is set at six players. Currently we already have: Piazon (26), Izzy brown (23), blackman (26), Pantic (23) So thats 4 players. We have Baka, zappa, DD, MvG, Moses,Tomori (22), Baba Rahman (26), Kenedy (24), Lewis Baker (24), Musonda (23), Clarke-Salter (22) I mean, am I missing anything? Or does it look like we are going to have to be giving a lot of wages for people for just sitting about doing nothing. The implementation of that new loan rule was postponed back in April because of the pandemic and subsequent impact on clubs. https://www.marca.com/en/football/international-football/2020/04/07/5e8cb41be2704e87598b4573.html Will come into effect when things are back to normal, whenever that will be. Ok. Missed that. Good to hear. Man, some of the names were so weird to even write down. Why do we still even have them on our books
Popular Post! Iggy Doonican 4,186 Posted August 26, 2020 Popular Post! Share Posted August 26, 2020 A 33 year old Messi is still an outstanding player but clubs would be looking more at Messi the merchandise then Messi the player. His name would be used to sell shitloads of stuff the media interest would be off the scale and kids would become fans just because he's playing for them. If Man City bought him when fans are allowed back in those northern pricks might even sell out the empty had for once. Muzchap 8,966
Exactly- we can afford Messi and I don't think it will kill the wage structure. Players know they ain't as good as Messi. For a 2-3 year period it would be insane. Tons of merchandise sold and lots of marketing rights. People saying we don't need or want him are just plain crazy. The same people saying we shouldn't sign Messi would have said the same about Zola... or Vialli... kellzfresh
Muzchap 8,966
Our youngsters playing with Messi will only improve them and show them what is required. I would absolutely love it - but just cannot see it happening unless Roman wants it. What a statement to World Football. He has a relationship with Pep though - so City, sadly does seem a potential outlet. He must remember the glory days of Chelsea and his inability to score easily against us... Lampard could probably convince him. Lampard is a smart negotiator. kellzfresh and Atomiswave

His wages alone are around 50m per year, which would be 10% of overall revenue for an year. Even if we are able to get him for 200m for let's say 4 years, that's 50m amortized fee. Another 10%. So 20% of our overall revenue on one player? This is on top of the 99m loss that we incurred for 2018-19. Anyone thinking we can "afford" him needs a reality check. Only way to make the signing all worthy is if he leads to the quadruple or at least the treble every season. Moreover, if we spend all that money on Messi, we can probably forget about buying players over the next few years.
Magic Lamps 11,692
Messi is not gonna win anyone the CL on their own again. Same as Ronaldo. They are still world class players but not really able to win matches all alone. Salah, Mane, Mbappe, Neymar maybe even Sterlign or Gnabry might be better than Messi overall right now. City has already as much PL titles as we do and Messi wins millions of new Man City fans. Hard times Gesendet von meinem VOG-L29 mit Tapatalk They already are a bigger club, arent they. turnover wise at least they are bigger and they are part of a global football group. The sheicks are also more wealthy than Roman. But it doesn't matter. Chelsea is a unique, global brand, representing the best part of London, arguably capita mundi. City is just the other club from manchester. It will always be a case of ManUtd the biggest brand and then there is city their noisy neighbours. When people think aobut city there will always be Manchester and people will argue who is even the biggest club in that shithole of a town. We will be always hover above that. Who gives a shit about Manchester? But when people think London, they think Chelsea. This is our brand, everybody know what it stands for. fashionable, exclusive, king's road swagger, royal blue, Stamford Bridge, bit bourgeois, bohemian, English roots but international touch...so many Chelsea legends, legends of the game in fact... what the fuck does ManCity stand for?
