Unless Christensen hits the gym and bulks up considerably I don't think I can ever see him becoming a lock in our team. He looks like he's never lifted a weight in his life and is thin as a pole. He gets bullied physically all the time.

I prefer Zouma, Rudiger, and even Tomori over him.

Problem is tactically AC is by far the best player. His positional work and reading of the game is pretty good. His problem is the confidence/physical side of the game. I find it really strange how he hasn't been put on a training regime because if he bulked up, I think his confidence would also improve.

It is amazing that no one told him to do that over the years...

Ampadu, Michy, Gallagher, Tomori... All on loan to PL clubs, they will not play against us, but hopefully they do some damage to rivals... And it could be a couple more...

So if they are a consistent starting XI, we have an agreement that they will sit out in games against us?

Players on loan in the league never play against their teams. Nothing to do with game time or agreement.

UEFA have different rules tho for European comps. And in FA cup we allowed Mount and Tomori to play against us last season. But in league this is never the case.

It's probably why he's being persisted with. Defenders do have a habit of turning WC late 20's and often there's little sign of such a rise bar natural ability, they must be seeing something.

I remember Lucio came to The Bridge with Bayern and got toyed with, his next game in our yard was with Inter and he was absolutely collosal.

So Telefoot becomes a good source? You can believe what you want, I still stand by what I said in the final convo with Jason.
If we get rice and still have kante, what formation? How does kante fit it? Will we change our whole pressing game by going to a 4-2-3-1 to play to a World class kante's strengths, or will we put a square peg in a round hole by playing him in an advanced position and worsening our overall play.

the rumor going around and shared by many good sources is that rice would be coming in primarily to play at CB... so all of those issues you mention won’t be a problem

I have a feeling that the FA or FIFA or whoever is going to change the loan rules soon to limit how many players any one club can loan within the PL. Because you have to admit (however funny it is) that us sending loads of solid players to PL teams who can damage our rivals while not being able to damage us is not really fair.

Hope we abuse the hell out of the rules as they are, though. 😂

They already did. It was supposed to come into play this season but the pandemic happened and it was moved to next year.

The rumor by athletic or by romano has specified that we are in for a DM. Not CB. So I think it's as a DM

I know you've talked about selling Kante and all that but think Lampard wants another DM as an option, a back up (whatever you want to call it). Because when Kante was injured last season, we practically had no defensive minded midfielder to cover for him and had to play someone like Jorginho or change our formation to a back 3 to shore up the defensive shortcomings in midfield. If we want our creative, attacking players to shine, then we definitely need another fella to help do the dirty work to let the those other players shine.

Fair. But 60-70m for a back up? Let's see. Honestly a bit confused myself. Heart wants kante to stay, but head says sell if a right offer comes in.

Could be for rotation. It's gonna be a congested season and if we can alleviate the workload on Kante and protect his dodgy hamstring, then why not?

City also have expensive options sitting on the bench every week and their greater depth is arguably the main reason why they have dominated domestically over the last few years.

If we sell Kante and buy Rice, we'll just end up with the same problem we had last season - only one defensive midfielder. Plus, let's not forget that Rice is only 21 years old. He's still young and by no means the finished article yet. Selling Kante and the wealth of experience he's got doesn't seem like the brightest of ideas right now when our squad just got even younger this season.

Also whats changed after last season? We should of just loaned him out last season if Frank felt he needed a move to play more PL games. He will be better off having played in the PL for 1 season so a loan move now strikes me as very odd.

We were about to do that last season but than Luiz happened and we had transfer ban so he had to stay.
