I honestly think Rice joins us this summer. The out goings are coming anytime, and they will pay for him.

I think we'd have to sell 2 of Barkley, Kante, or J5 in order to sign Rice. And we've heard nothing about any of those leaving, really.

We still need a new goalkeeper...

I am slightly worried that we will stay with Kepa for this season and will go all out for Oblak next Summer. If so, he will lose us a lot of points...

I wouldn't worry about the GK too much. It is clear the club are fixing the issues with the squad properly this year. GK is the one position where you can pretty much drop someone in straight away without any real issues. At worst, I would expect a Ben Foster who, when we take into consideration all the other signings, would be perfectly fine for a season.

As for Rice, things appear to be moving Wet Spam forums are currently resigned to the issue. Apparently, they all feel that it is a foregone conclusion as they need about three or four players. Hopefully, we can get a deal done that involves one or two of our players.

Barkley and Jorginho will be the ones leaving

If Declan Rice is a real possibility this window then I could see Kante being the one sold to fund it. There's been some rumours recently that Conte wants him at Inter, and I could also see PSG possibly looking at him if they know we're willing to sell this window.

As good as Kante has been at Chelsea, Rice is far more suited to play that holding role in midfield that we're lacking.

Perhaps a year playing that role, whilst Thiago Silva is here and then next summer the club can re-assess the situation (whether a new holding midfielder is brought and Rice moves to centre back, or we buy a new centre back and continue Rice in midfield).

Absolute ZERO chance we'll sell Kante. If anything is going to fund the purchase of Rice, it'll be through the sales of Barkley, Jorginho, Batshuayi etc.

Also, there is no guarantee Rice will play as the DM when all the reports have suggested Lampard sees him as a CB. And even if he plays as the DM, we're gonna depth in that position.

Hopefully it will be one from Oblak Donnarumma, Pope Cakir or Maignin ..
No onana or mendy please.

I think this could backfire badly. 2/3rds of squad brand new, plenty of cash spent and we will never hear again about Tomori, Tammy, Odoi, RLC, Mount; at least not in as starting players...

Mount will still get plenty of games. CHO will also owing to the nature of the AM position and the amount of games there will be next season. Tammy may have a bit if a job but I expect to see him at least 20 times next season. Tomori will be loaned/sold with a buyback. RLC is the one that should be worried. If Harvetz comes in, I have: Harvetz, Mount and Kova all playing ahead of him.

Thats not the point though. Instead of Mount progressing and improving, we just bought Kai as our starter.

We had chance to see how far he will reach as our AM, but instead we forked 90m on new shiny toy.

I guess we will be more competitive, but thats clear goodbye to having faith in our youth.

Using them as rotation and state they will get playtime isnt exactly like putting them on the front line and belive they will succeed.

Im not mad about our spending, but I also hoped we will actualy develop our players and in few years, there will be couple from our youth system forming our winning core.

Truth now is only James has some chance as starter. Tomori PLAYED here and was big success last first half of season, now he is about to be loaned out. Enough said how much we trust him. RLC has little chance now with the competition. Mount is never getting ahead of Kai or Puli unless they flop. He will be good rotation player,  but thats  not exactly leading the team is it. Tammy, ok, he is super limited but same. Odoi maybe, but if Ziyech is our man for next 3 years, Odoi will waste key years on bench. Cup games here and there with PL game once every blue moon isnt it. They need to play week in and out like Sancho. Get that rhytm and consistency.

But it is what it is. It always looked too good to be true tbh.

If any of the youth is good enough they will play. Even as backups they could establish themselves as players here.

But we are Chelsea ffs, we are not happy to finish top4 every season.

I rate James and CHO but if they perform like today how long we would need to wait for them? Azpi is still better than James.

Tammy is what he is and that is not good enough. I do not see much place for improvements either. Same with Mount, he is not going to become suddenly some creative force.

So no point in overplaying youth just for the sake of it.
