Chelsea Transfers

These transfers are also revealing what Maresca really thinks about our players. All year when he was talking a big game about Sanchez I was rolling my eyes because it just felt like there was no way he believed the words he was saying and was just stuck with the guy and saying anything bad would only make the situation worse so he tried to put some confidence in him to get what he could out of him while stuck with him.

Curious who else might be 'surprisingly' for the guillotine - maybe the nicer Maresca is about you the more you're in danger! (he was very positive about Malo Gusto and NJ...)

One interesting question is if we do sign Mike for GK, who is our number 2 next year?

Surely Sanchez never accept that. Doubt Petrovic will, but maybe? Jorgensen is terrible and if we got stuck having to play him for a long period it would basically be writing off the season.

I guess in an ideal world Petrovic will suck it up and agree to compete for at least a season with Mike? It seems like a total waste tho.

I feel like it will have to be Jorgensen. Penders is supposedly meant to be part of our CWC squad, but it would be stupid to have him rot on our bench at a crucial time in his development.

Chelsea are in talks for Jamie Gittens and they are PROGRESSING.

A first bid is expected soon, more than £30m with a little bonus to try and reach an agreement with Dortmund. 🐝

For 30-40m wouldn't be a bad deal I think especially if we get rid of Madueke as well.

Kendry Paez is expected to go to Strasbourg, and Mathis Amougou is going to join him.

Other youngsters in line for a loan are:

- Marc Guiu
- Aaron Anselmino
- Mike Penders.

A loan is also being seen as an option for David Datro Fofana.

Geez, what are we doing with some of these young guys.. What was the plan with Amougou? He could have just stayed at St Etienne. Why we bother took him here? Same with Anselmino. He was scheduled to join this summer but we took him earlier.. for what? What will we do with Ugochukwu, Essugo? We just seem to lose money on these guys.

Where would Hato play for us and is he a starter or backup level talent?

He's more than a backup level talent

He and Cucu would rotate. Between PL and CL both will get plenty of starting opportunities.

That's if we get him, apparently he's friends with the Liverpool midfielder Gravenberch (if that's how you spell it)

Seems like we're just hoarding young talents, hoping that 1-2 develop into useful players.

Similar case with Veiga, was brought in to be the squad LB, then fell out with Maresca, went on loan, Juventus don't want him on permanent and now we're stuck with another player that needs to be sold or loaned out.

That is feasible, but needs caring and good loans. Icing/axing players will just damage their market value.

Ironically, one the best performing "hoarded" young player of Boehly-era last season was Diego Moreira, who we managed to ship off. Carney, Ugo, Washington etc didn't really step forward.

yeah, sometimes i don't know what people expect Maresca to say 'I know Sanchez sucks, but Jorgensen is even worse so I have no choice'? That would do wonders for morale

Links to Kudus in the rags this morning, too expensive for me

Exactly what I was thinking. For that type of money, we should be going after WC talent. Kudus, while playing for a struggling West Ham team, has been far too inconsistent.
