I don't believe the Havertz rumor one bit but he is versatile enough to play in different positions and given Lampard likes to change formation, it would make sense that he wants players that can play in at least 2-3 positions in the team.

Honigstein and Johnson are very reliable though.

Sorry, what I meant to say is, I don't believe we would actually go for him. We may be interested but I don't think we will actually buy him.

And besides, they didn't say we are negotiating with Leverkusen for him, just interested (aka Monitoring FC).

That's true.

Versatility also allows a smaller squad and as a consequence a more happy one.

That's why I look forward to Gallagher's return, he played in literally every midfield position for Charlton and strikes me as the type of player that could play literally any outfield position to a high standard.

So why buy Ziyech?

Silly season rumor without a doubt.

becuase we are losing both our RWers

and it's a bonus that both Ziyech and Havertz can play AMF as well.

simple

I do not see anyone asking why buy Sancho

and he is not a even a hybrid

If we are upgrading Willian/Pedro to Ziyech/Havertz then expectations will be high next season.

I also don’t find anything simple in spending over 100 million on a player that is similar to what we already have in Ziyech, when a LB, ST, and CB are needed.
