Milan Skriniar is one of the most popular defenders on the European market. Paris Saint-Germain has been working for Inter for some time, trying to convince the Nerazzurri to give up. Now, however, there is competition. 

 

 

In fact, on the defender there is Chelsea: the English have expressed interest in the Slovak. The Blues had already asked for information on Skriniar during the negotiations for the Lukaku deal, now there is the will to deepen the discussion.

Just saying The Athletic didn't ever say its a done deal. Still seems like its happening. Just hope it happens fast and we can move on to other targets.

Chelsea have approached Manchester City over the possible signing of England winger Raheem Sterling, The Athletic understands.

The Athletic reported in June that Chelsea were growing in confidence that they could complete a deal for a player available for a cut-price fee this summer because he only has one year left to run on his contract.

Sterling is thought to have spoken to Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel about what life is like at the club, and one source believes the only stumbling block to a deal being completed is the size of the fee.

It is understood that both parties are willing to finalise a deal and while no bid has been made yet, it is expected imminently. Personal terms are still to be agreed.

In Sterling’s seven years at City, he has scored 131 goals in 339 appearances for the reigning Premier League champions.

He joined City from Liverpool for an initial £44 million in July 2015 and has gone on to win four Premier League titles, one FA Cup and three League Cups.

Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez's arrivals, plus the form of the likes of Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez, has meant there will be fierce competition for places in Pep Guardiola’s starting XI next season.

City’s first game of the 2022-23 season will be against West Ham United at the London Stadium on August 7.

No idea but he grew up in London and was only round the corner in QPR's academy so it's very possible.

Yes, I understand he's a bit polarizing (understatement), and can be predictable at times, as someone else pointed out here. In the end of the day tho, Sterling is a good player and one who would certainly add quality to any team in the PL.

I just don't see his characteristics as something we lack; quite the opposite actually, I think we have an overabundance of players of his style and position.
 

Lukaku's situ is hard to read. It could be the club trying to make him lower his wages, so we pay less during the loan. The club might think it's not worthwhile to pay a high percentage of his wages when he's playing elsewhere, so let's "see" how much Lukaku really wants to join Inter.
