Sule looks like Harry Maguire to me  😄

I prefer Kounde  or Ginter .

I think we can easily afford both Sule and Kounde

The main thing that worries me about Sule are his knees

he is massively faster than slabhead, when he is fully healthy he would be our paciest CB, now that we sold Tomori (who was our fastest player on the entire squad)

I think Leipzig or even Leverkusen could go for CHO if he became available. It's probably Bayern or bust, as you mentioned, where Werner is concerned & I could imagine Nagelsmann pushing for him if the chance arose.

Pulisic is a weird one, as I'm unsure who could want/afford him considering the probable fee. He seems like someone I could see going off to Spain.

Saudis have a hard-on for yanks

look at geo politics, and we all know the MBS is all about PR after the head chopping and bone-sawing

I'd have liked to see Tomori under Tuchel. Sale was sanctioned days before Lampard was sacked which didn't make sense when Chris, Rudi, Azpi and TSilva were towards the end of their deals

Nah. Same thing with what I said regarding Dortmund.

Who in Spain could want him? Barcelona are broke. Real Madrid are going after Mbappe and maybe Haaland as well. Atletico are probably the only one.

Pulisic would do well in Italy.

Roma have an American owner, don't they?

How weird would it be to play against Lampard’s Everton?

Who to believe in this one - Simon Phillips or an actual, reliable English media outlet?

If hypothetically (seems very likely) we move to 4atb

Is it really?

Tuchel himself said the back 4 is only an option and he has explained that he decided to play with a back 4 recently due to the injuries/COVID to the CBs and injuries to both Chilwell and James as well as perhaps the team's poor form. We were getting next to nothing from Alonso and Azpi as WBs from an attacking perspective. So, Tuchel had to try and change something and make sure we get at least attacking width - which we typically get from Chilwell, James and at least Alonso in a back 3 - by moving to a back 4 with actual wingers in the system. There's less emphasis on the likes of Alonso and Azpi to provide the width in that system compared to a back 3. On top of that, the back 4 has only worked against one team so far - Spurs. It didn't work well against Brighton and am sure people do remember that against City, Tuchel reverted to a back 3. So, it still remains to be seen if he will go with a back 4 permanently.

On the bigger picture, I'd also ask - where do you fit in Werner, Havertz and/or even Broja in the back 4 for example? If we play with 2 strikers a lot of the time, then sure. They have a place upfront (like against Spurs in the League Cup). But if we play with 2 strikers only occasionally, then it's not gonna work in the long run. If we play with only 1 striker most of the time in the back 4 (I suspect Tuchel will keep on shoehorning Lukaku into the XI), then where do you fit them in? They are not wingers. Havertz could maybe play as a No.10 (in a 4-2-3-1) but if Mount is gonna be a starter most of the time, then he would likely play there. Havertz is not a CM either and you yourself complained about that when Lampard played him in midfield in the 4-3-3. So where then? That's before we even go to the potential issues in midfield and defence.

He certainly would have gotten a lot of playing time with us this season, he made the midseason Serie A team of the year

After Livramento, he was probably the only other exit this season I was not happy about (maybe Giroud or Tammy (less so with him as we got good money) as well)

The window will end with no one coming in besides Dylan Williams off Derby.

the Dembele rumours are utter BS IMO

No smoke without fire.

Maybe but pointless to spend money on him now when we can get him for free in the summer. It's not as if we are desperate for an attacker right now. That being said, the rumors seem to come about because of the connection with Tuchel rather than something more logical (at least at this point in time).

I would say its more that Barca are desperate to get him out right now than us wanting to get him in.

Tuchel got a tune out of him at Dortmund, where he was excellent. Whether or not he could repeat that here who knows but someone with his natural talent and considering how ambidextrous he is as a footballer, I find it strange he’s never really got going properly in Spain. Also any move really depends on Ziyech, Pulisic, Werner and CHOs positions and futures here as in who would be staying and who would be going, because we cannot have too many wide players.

He and Santi Cazorla are the most naturally two footed footballers I’ve ever seen in recent times, like basically impeccable technique with both feet to the point where if you didn’t know what foot was their strongest, you couldn’t tell their natural one when watching them.

Even Pedro was decent

Also true but I think those 2 were much better at it, seemed much more natural.

De Bruyne would also be in with a shout but think he and Pedro are probably similar level for that too.
